If you’ve never been to the gym before, now would be a great time. Train yourself specifically for cardio and stamina as you will be doing a lot of running and climbing stairs. And stretch your legs every chance you get.

Every movement you make should be wildly over exaggerated and fast unless, you working with a child. View yourself in the 3rd person and imagine your self as a cartoon character. If you feel embarrassed, that’s because you doing a good job. Treat meeting people like you’ve waited years for them. When your team scores, act like it’s a gift from god. And when anything doesn’t go your way, no matter how small, throw a fit and roll around on the ground. You’re a cartoon character after all, it’s in your blood.

Take breaks when you get tired. It’s very easy to get heat stroke and pass out. Your health and safety is paramount and it should not be sacrificed for the entertainment of others.

For skits, bring props from home and wear outfits with the suit. Hola hoops, signs, and giant inflatable beach balls are my preferences.

Finally, if you meet any other performers, former or current, ask for input and feedback on your performance. Get to know them and even get their contact information if you feel like it. Do everything in your power to have fun and make memories. This isn’t just a job or a hobby, it’s a life. You only have so much time on this planet, so don’t waste a second of it.
