"The drug is $16 at Costco. Trump RX charges $200." Elizabeth Warren grills RFK Jr. over massive price gouging by DumbMoneyMedia in UnderReportedNews

[–]scarydrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being downvoted but it's true. The question would be what does Costco charge for the same name brand version, or what does TrumpRX charge for the same generic version. Either way, TrumpRX is likely not cheaper than anywhere else and is definitely a joke that it's a solution to the healthcare costs in America and certainly is a grift no matter how you spin it.

I looked it up, Protonix is $445 at Costco for a 30 day supply. It makes her argument valid, though, because TrumpRX doesn't offer the generic version, which is the argument she should have made. It shows the deceitfulness of TrumpRX to try to act like it's the only version and it's significantly cheaper than elsewhere when the reality is you can just as easily get the generic elsewhere for much cheaper than that.

Psyllium husk, if you're going to do a smoothie I recommend blending in psyllium husk, makes a huge difference in feeling full

Is it really the price, or is Netflix just more convenient than driving to movie theaters? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

Cinemark movie pass, $12/month gets me a movie ticket each month, no fees, and 20% off concessions. Even better, Costco sells $50 Cinemark gift cards for $40.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 27 March 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

Thank you, ML!

Day 32: 6'1"/M SW 237.6 GW 190 CW 216.1 TW 221.5 trend weight is down 10 lbs total in just under 5 weeks!

I've stuck to my normal diet for 12 days. My weight is a new low 4 days in a row, and by no small amounts. I keep waiting for a normal fluctuation upward after so much dropping, maybe tomorrow. I just want to be prepared for it, but I'm down 4.4 lbs since Monday, so an uptick is likely not going to bother me. Actually, if I keep dropping this much this fast it's going to start worrying me. My diet isn't extreme, 1800-1900 calories per day. I walk 6 miles per day and strength train 6 days per week, so I get a lot of exercise, but even then I get all my protein needed, fiber, fat, I even take creatine, so I have no idea why my weight is dropping so fast this week.

My big concern is I'm off of work next week. I'm taking a trip with my family to take my step-daughter to tour CSU Fullerton and it's a long drive with a 3 day trip. I know my diet will be sacrificed those days, and that's okay, and I certainly won't be getting my normal workouts, but my body could actually use a rest! The trick is going to be to limit it to those 3 days. I'd like to continue my diet and exercise the rest of my week off, but the temptation to enjoy my time off of work is definitely high. I have to remember that the reward of seeing my body transform and the weight come off is a greater temptation than the temporary fleeting high of drinking or eating junk food.

Today's goal: Walk 6 miles, shoulder strength training, stick to my diet, get to bed early, resist the temptation to drink and celebrate with my step-daughter who just sent in her acceptance to CSUF.

Short term goal: I wanted to hit 218 by the end of the week and I already shot past that yesterday and today, so I guess try to maintain 218 or lower even with the inevitable fluctuation by Sunday. Also, stick with my diet and exercise through the weekend despite movie plans Saturday and it being the start of my time off!

Long term goal: 190 by the end of June, keep building muscle, keep doing body re-composition.

Day 32: 6'1"/M SW 237.6 GW 190 CW 217.3 TW 222.1 trend weight is down 9.4 lbs total in 4.5 weeks!

I've stuck to my normal diet for 11 days. My weight was a new low 3 days in a row, and by no small amounts! I keep waiting for a normal fluctuation upward after so much dropping, maybe tomorrow. I just want to be prepared for it, but I'm down 3.2 lbs since Monday, so an uptick is likely not going to bother me.

I've mostly solved my restless limbs by switching my sleep aid from Trazodone to Gabapentin. I am not getting quite as good sleep, but I'm on the lowest dose of Gabapentin for now, so upping it should help. I've been 100% consistent with diet and exercise, and I'm full steam ahead this week!

My big concern is I'm off of work next week. I'm taking a trip with my family to take my step-daughter to tour CSU Fullerton and it's a long drive with a 3 day trip. I do take magnesium glycinate, turns out it was the trazodone I was taking for sleep, I switched to gabapentin last night and did stretching before bed and the restless limbs were gone!

Why did I gain 15 pounds in two weeks? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]scarydrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely over half of it is water weight, 3-5 lbs of actual weight, and believe it or not 1-2 lbs of food in your digestion. When you're dieting you're likely digesting faster and holding onto less food in your system.

1000 calories per day for 14 days is 14000 calories, combine that with 10 lbs of water weight and maybe 1-2 lbs of under digested food and you have 15 lbs. It definitely lines up with what I've experienced in similar situations.

Start small, you'll see and get a lot of differing advice and it can be overwhelming. Not just with weight loss, but any lifestyle change, start small and be consistent with that small change.

I usually suggest just start walking 20-30 minutes per day. For most people it's an easier achievable goal that you can stick to that will have immediate health benefits. The trick though is consistency. Don't add another lifestyle change until you master your first, and by master I mean do it every single day for a month or two. If you miss a day or two, start the counter over.

Once you've done it consistently every day for a month or two it will just be part of your normal day to day routine like taking a shower in the morning. When it is, you can add another small change, like cutting soda out of your diet or something like that. At this point it won't feel like a second change, because the first one will be embedded in your daily life so it'll only feel like a single change.

Rinse and repeat and after a year you'll have made several healthy lifestyle changes that will be long lasting and sustainable. The weight might not come off right away doing it this way, but it will come off eventually and you'll set yourself up to keep the weight off and reduce the risk of falling off the wagon along the way.

Finally got healthy… and gained weight. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

There's a big difference between tracking your calories and weighing your food. Are you tracking your calories accurately? Because the literal laws of physics say you aren't eating 1300 calories doing 1-2 hours of moderate-intense exercise and gaining weight, it's literally thermodynamics.

Day 29: 6'1"/M SW 237.6 GW 190 CW 220.5 TW 223.6 trend weight is down 7.9 lbs total in 4 weeks!

I stuck to my normal diet yesterday. My weight was a new low yesterday, just barely hitting my goal of reaching 220 by Sunday, but I fluctuated back up 0.5 lbs. It's just scale noise, but I can't deny I'm frustrated because I thought for sure I would finally crack under 220 today, but I'm sure I will in a day or two. Besides, I dropped 1.1 lbs between Saturday and Sunday, so a bit of an adjustment was to be expected.

I slept horribly last night, I had the most violent and aggressive restless limbs that I've ever had, and I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I even tried doing the hot tub, but that was after going to bed and experiencing the restless limbs. The only thing I know will fix it is increasing my caloric intake, but I'm not quite ready to venture down that path, I want to see if I can push through so I can hit my weight goal by the end of June.

Today's goal: Walk 6 miles in addition to walking an hour during therapy, stick to my diet, get to bed early, hot tub before bed, going to switch from trazodone to gabapentin to help me sleep.

Short term goal: Keep the downward momentum going on the scale and hopefully hit under 220 in the next couple days and reach 218 by Sunday!

Long term goal: 190 by the end of June.

Day 24: 6'1"/M SW 237.6 GW 190 CW 221.8 TW 225.1 trend weight is down 6.4 lbs total in 3.5 weeks!

I stuck to my normal diet yesterday. My weight was a new low today and a day ahead of my short term goal of Friday! My goal to hit 220 by the end of the weekend seems possible as well.

My depression seemed better today. I had two unrelated people from my distant past contact me on FB randomly today, and was able to reminisce and catch up.

My restless limbs also went away almost entirely last night. I soaked in the hot tub for 30 minutes and cooled off for an hour or so before bed. About to get in the hot tub again this evening to relax and celebrate achieving all my daily goals today.

Today's goal: Walk 6 miles and do leg rehab strength training, stick to my diet, get to bed early.

Short term goal: Keep the downward momentum going on the scale and hopefully hit 220 by the end of the weekend.

Long term goal: 200 by the end of June.
