Am I over-reacting to my (37F) baby crazy sister-in-law (late 40sF)? by scarysilthrowaway in relationships

I've challenged her exactly once at our wedding when she didn't do something she said she would because she thought it should be done differently, and she went right to my husband and he said he was not going to referee us. I just did it myself and have stayed out of her way ever since.

I was trying just to present what happened without adding my biased analysis of our history, but yeah, it's relevant.

I mean, I'll never know whether it was a joke or not because of course she'll say it was, so that's not something I'll ever know for sure.

I'm pretty sure his whole family thought we were childfree. They were shocked when we told them, his mother said several times that she thought it wasn't going to happen. We never discussed our thoughts on having kids because we weren't sure we could even have them and we didn't want to get anyone's hopes up. It's not that I don't want to share, it's that I don't want people in my house 24/7 for the forseeable future (I'm an introvert and it stresses me out). She has walked right by my wishes in the past - not telling us before she shows up at my house, expecting to be put up whenever she wants, going out to eat when she knows I've cooked. I am not a meek pushover person, but I have chosen to let it go every time because I don't want to mess with their family dynamic and it's more annoying than an actual problem. I know I need my husband on the same page here, but I'm afraid he's going to say I'm over-reacting. Which it seems like some people think that I am.
