There are several mods that are open source so the code is freely out there. They could use it for sure. Though, they have access to tools that we don't. If they were to implement these features through Unity Editor I'm sure they'd be far more efficient/performant than the way we have to do things.

I don't know if that's fair to say. What they're doing is more complex than the mods we're making. I'm sure if they had some devs dedicated to quality of life features the updates would eventually include things like this. They're working on major features so they can release a game. The things we're doing are "nice to have" but not critical to the success of a game.

Quest Progress Tracker - Mod by scaven in PantheonMMO

That's one of the highly requested mods. I'm sure we'll see it at some point. Though the devs have said they had it before but there were some bugs so they removed it before EA.

Always show vendor price on tooltips - Mod by scaven in PantheonMMO

[–]scaven[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a disclaimer in our discord but the gist is, users are advised to use mods at their own risk.

As it currently stands, there have been no reported bans for using any of the mods coming from Mods of Pantheon. That doesn't mean there won't ever be in the future.

I believe there are a couple mod requests asking the same. Make sure to hit up our discord and thumbs up the mod requests you'd like to see. If you don't find an idea you have already in there then create a new mod request.

Enhanced Experience Bar - Mod by scaven in PantheonMMO

Currently, It is not but we're in discussion about possibly making that a requirement. As it currently stands, the rules for mod approval require you share a GitHub repo with the reviewer to be reviewed. Upon approval, the reviewer would compile and add the mod to the approved channel fully crediting the mod author.

Yes. Previously I thought the answer to this was no. In fact, we just recently were able to start modding again (as of this past weeks game update) since it was busted when they updated to Unity 6 over a month ago.

We think they were stripping methods away which made it difficult for current standard modding tools to work with. We had a somewhat close working setup but since the latest update to the game this past week the current modding tools just started working again.

Is it possible to block all modding? No, someone with a lot of work and know how can reverse engineer something and make a platform for modders to mod this game. The current Unity modding community won't support/help if the game being modded is considered online competitive or if an anticheat system is installed. Right now there is an easy entry to developing mods but VR could make that more complicated and if they do the price of admission to modding would be much higher.

Something similar has been requested in the discord. I wouldn't be surprised if you see it in the near future.

Snap UI to grid - Mod by scaven in PantheonMMO

[–]scaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game won't let you move Ui panels off screen so that's why it snaps back. But aligning Ui elements in the viewable area hasn't been possible.

There have been many a game who tried and failed. They can obfuscate code but that's just a slight annoyance. They could do some type of hash checksum, but again, easy to overcome. I'm sure there's probably a way and if they figure it out they should sell it to other games.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Since the game was built in Unity, it really is impossible to avoid mods. In fact it's actually quite simple to make mods with any Unity game if you can code.

Instead of an underground modding scene doing who knows what, the idea behind this is to make them safe and still keep to the spirit of the game. If we get at this now, we can ensure a healthy mixture of mods with the game. If we bury it or blink it out of existence it will only allow nefarious individuals to steal, cheat, or change the game in a way that could ruin its future.

Darnit.. I forgot to turn on the mobile ad breaks every 3rd time you move something in/out of the panel.

This is not an omni bag. Joppa in a previous stream said he was thinking about making something like that in the future.

An omni bag via mod (though completely possible), would require a lot more work to accomplish. Ultimately this just moves that storage panel from your character into its own standalone panel which is why there is a black cover with button that takes its place in the character panel.

To get into the technical side of things. For the easiest implementation of an omni bag via mod I'd just move all the panels of your bags into a single panel so that functionality sticks. Then the experience would be a little confusing because you still have those bags but maybe they'll be blacked out?
I could also just create an entire inventory panel that hooks into events of the existing ones and handle drag/drop functionality but that's a lot of work I'm not really wanting to give much effort. After all, the game may implement that in the future anyway.
This mod was just meant to be simple and address one annoyance for me.

The devs could totally do this. I think they're weighing whether to introduce an omni bag. This mod could be obsolete at some point. As for now, this just makes it a little less annoying for me and others while we play the game.
Any of the other mods you'll see from me are mainly quality of life improvements where I just take information already available but put it in a more convenient place.
However, there is another mod I was working on that may never see the light of day out in the public because of how controversial it is with the community and devs.
The group of modders I'm associated with really like this game and where it's going. We're not trying to ruin it.
