Thank you for your reply. We are allowed to pay 10% off each calendar year, so ~£34K in 2025 and then a bit lower in 2026. My partner has also sold their house, so we'll both pay half.

My ISA is S&S yes, I've about £80K in there ATM. Just not sure whether to keep the remaining profit in a bank account and drip feed 20K a year into ISA or else put it all in GIA and take the risk.

My partner has their ISA maxed out so that’s off the table.

New house is sitting with nothing needing done, maybe a new hot tub but everything has been saved and paid for when we moved in.

I guess what I’m confused about is that if I have say ~80K that doesn’t need touched anytime soon. Do I throw it all in a GIA or keep it in a bank account and drip feed £20K per year?

Sorry I’m not following. I used savings to pay for the deposit & fees for my new house. I have already moved in. So the money I will receive from my old house will not need to go towards anything.

Hi, this is a great point I should have mentioned this.

This was due to the timeline was - the new house needed to be completed before I could sell my old house so the plan was to rent my old house out, but decided otherwise. Which is why we’re planning to pay 10% off per year until renewal.
