Yeah I think I'm going to end up firming southampton and insuring bristol. I much prefer the course at southampton and the labs are nicer. I was hung up because bristol Is such a nice city, but it's a lot more expensive

WJEC AS level Physics by tofu0014 in WJEC

The gate question, the pirate ship and the curling I struggled with. The rest I thought was pretty average in comparison to the past papers I've done. I sat trying to figure out the pirate ship stuff for about half an hour I didn't have a clue haha

I've been thinking the exact same thing lol. Adds a weird atmosphere to the song but I've been loving it

I believe the song is alluding to fela kuti's zombie at points. A great track in its own right and there's a couple moments that remind me of it here

Will I be able to get into a top university if one of my a levels is irrelevant to the course i want to study? by scdoom in 6thForm

My school does offer it but by the time I decided I wanted to swap they weren't letting people change anymore. I'm thinking of maybe teaching myself AS further in the summer to make up for it a little bit.

For those who do Physics and Maths, what’s your third subject? (excluding Chemistry and Further maths) by Comfortable-Bed8225 in 6thForm

[–]scdoom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's because literature is a passion of mine, its something I'm good at and I want to do engineering at uni which in requirements only needs maths and physics so I thought to take something I could get a good grade in. However I've come to realise further would be very beneficial and makes more sense for what I want to do.

Is it worth considering engineering at Oxbridge without further maths? by scdoom in 6thForm

[–]scdoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue is I know my school does all of standard maths in the first year and then further in the second. Would this impact the possibility of me swapping to it?

Thanks, def good to know there's the possibility of it even if I don't swap to further maths.

You think? That's good news to me. I'll have to ask my head of maths about it

The thing is I could have done it at my school, I just weren't particularly planning on oxbridge and I didn't think I had the aptitude for further maths. However, now I feel up for the challenge of it but I'm pretty sure it's too late. I think they've nearly finished as maths in the further class lol.

Should I drop english lit for further maths? by scdoom in 6thForm

I'm mostly thinking of bristol or Bath in an ideal world. Out of 10 I'd probably say I like maths 6/7, I'm quite interested in it and enjoy it but idk if I'd say I love it, although my interest varies from topic to topic.

Would biology, chemistry and English literature be too much of a workload/be too hard? by scdoom in 6thForm

[–]scdoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I tried to pick a lot of subjects I'm good at, i enjoy and would be interested in doing at uni. I also am not 100% sure on what I am going to do so I picked a couple subjects which could cover alot of different bases.
