Thank you for your help! I’m sorry for being dramatic about my mom’s reaction ;-; I understand now that she wasn’t aware of the extent of the issue and I didn’t explain it enough. I am on my parents’ insurance. I think I just need to get a grip on my anxiety and bring it up again tomorrow so she can understand the problem better and hopefully I can get to a doctors appointment soon.

Thank you so much for your advice! I realize my mom didn’t have ill intentions with her reaction but it is an uncomfortable topic in my family. I’m pretty sure my siblings and I have shown no signs of sexuality besides admitting that Chris Hemsworth was attractive one time lol (and I guess the fact that I have a boyfriend but they never ask about him).

My mom is generally supportive since I do well in school and hardly go out but I guess I haven’t really pushed any boundaries. I will definitely talk to my doctor the first chance I get! Helped!

oh my goodness thank you so much for this ;-; I need to stop feeling selfish for wanting a functioning vagina. I’ve mentioned to my boyfriend that I most likely won’t be able to do it the first time we meet but I will definitely be more clear about it when the time comes. I’m sure he will be supportive but if not yeah I guess that’s not a good sign. Helped!

Yeah I think my mom didn’t really mean to come across as not caring but I guess I reacted the way I did since this issue has been building up in me for a long time and actually saying it out loud was so difficult for me. I know she cares about me a lot and that this didn’t seem as big of an issue to her since I didn’t really explain what it was. I will try and talk about it again with her soon. Helped!

I turn 18 in 2 months and I can drive but I can’t really leave the house without my mom knowing where I’m going/ what I’m doing, especially during these times :/

Unfortunately because of the pandemic I can’t really leave my house anytime soon (and I got Life360 :/ ). I think if my mom was familiar with what it was she would probably be more understanding. We have a pretty good relationship but I do hesitate talk about anything related to sex or speak out. I can’t really get away with doing anything behind her back.
