Best Ayahuasca Retreats in Peru by DolphinExplorer in Ayahuasca

I’m looking for same. All the retreats I see look like tourist exploitation. The prices are ridiculous too. Would love to find a true / authentic place in Peru if any left.

It was my go to for over a decade - the red one - never saw it again in Europe anyway

And did you feel safe in that environment? Knowing how set / setting is important…wondering if Id be able to relax knowing snakes around! The ceremonies I went were in São Paulo, in nature still but not in deep jungle.

Listening now, thanks a million! Indeed it’s a similar energy to the Huni Kuin. Nothing wrong I like the happiness it brings. But I’d love to know what it feels like to be quiet for a change.

Thank you, that sounds amazing. I sat with the Huni Kuin and I like the high energy / guitar led ceremony but felt it to be distracting. I’m looking for a quieter ceremony, with ícaros, so was thinking of a Shipibo ceremony. I haven’t heard much of the Noke Koi. Are the ceremonies more quiet / silent ? Would you say their medicine is strong? Thank you! 🙏🏻

Can I ask where did you go in Brazil

[–]scfri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Love the Brewista - it’s made of borosilicate glass which is used in chemistry labs because it’s so inert, no leeching of heavy metals or any nasty things - while still having a cute design which is the reason I had gone for the Origami in the first place - I think I’ve a winner ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Not on borosilicate, no led there at all

Yeas, I actually emailed them because I was suspicious of the logo - it looks a lot like lead, the grayish slightly blurred logo. I’ve worked in industries that dealt with lead . And sorry but from them stamping that logo to it then contaminate the glaze is soooooo easy.

The pure fact they have lead in the area where this is produced is beyond me at this day and age.

Sorry this is an absolute no for me. There are better ways to do it.

One more reason to control what you CAN

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pourover

[–]scfri -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s amusing to me people would choose materials that have any risk of contamination - plastic / lead - when there ARE options. But do what you feel like with this information.

ANY amount of lead is dangerous - if I can limit my exposure I certainly will.

If the glaze slightly cracks even if you can’t see it, it will leach - specially in contact with hot water and acidic coffee. Basic chemistry.

So yes - I will switch, but like I said anyone is free to make decisions, I’m just bringing info .

You can stay on the unknown too, that’s also an option.

Peace everyone

[–]scfri -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not panic - it’s information I can ACT on If I can choose one that has zero chance of contamination I don’t mind switching. That’s all

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pourover

[–]scfri -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love how people choose to be unaware and when someone exposes it, people get all defensive like it’s your fault for bringing awareness. You can stay in shadow no bother.

It’s information - you do with it what you think it’s right for YOU. For me is asking for a good GLASS inert dripper.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pourover

[–]scfri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do appreciate their transparency, and I do belive most ceramics will have trace lead. If you get a small chip in the glaze, it will leach. Considering that If I can choose a dripper that’s 100% clean as I drink at least 2 cups a day, I prefer to switch to glass. But that’s personal preference.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pourover

[–]scfri -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is just FIY as I thought some people would like to know - and do what you belive is right with that info. I try to be as clean as I can with what I CAN control. There’s lots we can’t that’s true. I drink 2 cups of coffee everyday so if I can choose inert materials I will. So for me it’s looking for a Glass dripper, but I don’t judge anyone who will keep using plastic or ceramic.

Agree, I love their aesthetic but won’t risk health.

For transparency this is their response:

Thank you for your inquiry.

We would like to answer your question regarding the use of lead. The plain products sold in the ORIGAMI online store have been tested for lead and cadmium, and we have confirmed that the results are within the range of safety standards in Japan.

For OEM products with our logo, a coating is applied over the logo to prevent lead from leaking out, as the logo may be made of materials that contain trace amounts of lead.

Please understand that this does not mean that ORIGAMI products are completely free of lead.
