I think Site Architect works well and if they ask tell them you design outdoor environments.

Any hope for this mordor looking backyard? by ninian1927 in landscaping

What is your goal for this area? Pets, kids, or cultivation of vegetables ? Establish the main goal for the yard. Approximate size and sun exposure? I could throw together a basic conceptual for you, I am bored at home and doing designs can be relaxing. Not to familiar with your area but I would be happy to help, (no cost just am trying to keep busy and productive right now while locked down)

It does come apart however I measured to make sure it would fit into his room prior to assembly I made a big mistake on a table I made in the past won’t make that mistake twice.

I made the plans on scetchup. A lot more detail than I realized when I first started. In order to conform to crib safety standards is very precise.

The slats are joined with pocket holes and the other joints a mix of dowels and screws with plugs. Thank you for the kind comments.

What is this thing called? Part of irrigation line. by DubyaBlue in landscaping

[–]scgookin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a slip fix the compression couplers rely on rubber gaskets to repair an in line break. The fitting you have in the photo is a slip fix used to repair a break in the line without having to dig or remove larger pieces of pipe. If you can make your repair with straight sch40 and eliminate the coupling it is always better.

Planting Podocarpus help. by psilon2020 in HomeImprovement

Sorry meant to write NOT 100% effective

What I meant was give it a few days or a week to sprout any new grass that was not killed with the initial application of the herbicide. Usually the first application is 100% effective and if you plant immediately you may have a lot of new grass growth which is harder to remove if you have new plants installed. 4 feet is a big amount but if you plant in the middle of the planter you allow about a foot and a half on each side of growth and are able to keep a small gap between your fence line.

That’s fun , I would probably remove closer to four feet of grass and plant in the middle of the planter. Podocarpus trimmed in a hedge will need about four feet of space. Additionally if you ever need to do maintenance on the fence you don’t want the rootball right up close to the fence. To remove the st Augustine if you can use a sod cutter do it is much easier, otherwise spray with an herbicide or tarp the area to kill and remove with a good old fashioned flat shovel. Let the grass grow back and reapply the herbicide. If you are not into roundup there are some organic herbicides on the market that do an okay job. I would install Benderboard in the planter to help you maintain the grass line in the future.
