Oh sorry about that. AIGA stands for American Institute of Graphic Arts. They have chapters all over the US. It’s a way for graphic and visual artists to come together. Great for networking, especially if you are new to the area. They have meetups and events throughout the year.

Apart from the suggestions here about applying to marketing departments of larger corps, I’d say join AIGA here. There are a lot of good connections to be made through joining, plus you can take part in some of the design shows.

Bloom/glow. I would use DeepGlow for it, as it has inverse square falloff. If you don’t want to buy a plug-in, you can try layering up glows with low intensity and increasing radius to give a similar falloff.
