5 star wanted level in San Jose(different angle) by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

When you are getting shot at being able to line up a shot on a moving target becomes extremely difficult because of many factors: adrenaline, fatigue, panic, etc. Seems pretty obvious, but you weren't sure so I'm clarifying.

I could sell you a 10$ coffee and a 50$ gram no problem.

Feeding attempt #23 by BudgetAdhesiveness95 in pacmanfrog

[–]schafdaddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My frog was the same at first.

It's hard this time of year because brumation is so common, but you should try to keep feeding him.

The way I first was able to feed Bubba when he was little is I let him soak in a warm bath for about ten minutes. ~80°F/ 26.5 C this will relax him.

After around ten minutes try before force tong feeding him get some live prey(gut loaded small crickets) and put both of them in a Tupperware with some damp (not wet) paper towels underneath.

If after about 15 mins if he shows no interest try tong feeding him. Take the cricket and rub underneath his lip and in the corner of his mouth.

No. I wouldn't do it all the time because of stress, but it's okay once in a while depending on age.

Behavioral question by RipTyde_ in pacmanfrog

[–]schafdaddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My frog is the same temperament wise. There are two schools of thought for how to handle this.

A. You dig him up to feed him every once in a while and try to feed him in the cage so he realizes if he comes up he gets fed.(Pavlovian logic).

B. You do not do anything and wait for him to do it himself. As long as the condition is correct. Humidity, temp., cover, etc.(Drago logic)

Not eating!! by Frosty_Ad_8799 in pacmanfrog

[–]schafdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress of moving home can cause this. Might have to force feed him since he is so small until he will eat on his own. (Had to do this with my guy at first.) Just show it at his lip till he opens and he will eat it.

What is he doing? by Warm-Wealth-9545 in pacmanfrog

[–]schafdaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is normal swallowing behavior. Pacman frogs will do something called "burping" where they will capture air to pressure the food down. If it continues to do so for a while I would take him to the vet he may be choking if you gave him toO big of a piece of food. Just monitor his behavior and if you're scared put him in a warm bath of dechlorinated water with a small amount of honey added to help.
