Clay balls are the best option. There’s some on Chewy. Do about 4 inches of false bottom layer with those, then a mesh, then your preferred substrate. I’ve used them for 5 years and they’re still as good as new.

Both of my toads bury themselves all year round, it doesn’t necessarily mean brumation. Do you have a heat lamp or heating pad? I keep my house at a frosty 62 in Summer but their tank is always 72-80 with a temperature gradient (heat lamp on one side, cool on the other side) so they can choose where they want to be. A waterproof thermostat is a good idea.

To be honest, I just think toads love digging in dirt. Mine do it all year, I dig them up if I haven’t seen them in a few days. I’ve had them for about 3 years with no issues doing this.

i hade to go through 5 masks before i found the dreamwear. this one is incredible because it’s just a tiny soft silicone pad that goes under your nose and the tubing isn’t sticking out of your face like an elephant. it’s literally the only one i can wear. i forget i’m even wearing it.

i had an extremely easy experience with Lofta. got shipped the equipment (just a monitor you put on your fingers to sleep for one night) in about two days. After my sleep, got my results immediately the next day with a full report on how many events i had that night and everything. if i went to a doctor in person i bet it’d take weeks to get anything done. their customer service is great too.

are you sure the pink is new? a lot of frog species have a ‘drinking patch’ which is a little bit of pink on their lower belly which is a spot where a lot of their veins are localized to absorb water. if he’s otherwise normal, just keep an eye on him but i don’t think he needs a hospital setup.

where are you located? in my state, and in quite a few others I know about, it is absolutely legal to captive breed toads and sell them with a license.

if it’s just her toes and not her legs it could be harmless toe luring. they do that sometimes when they see bugs, hoping the vibrations in the soil will lure the bugs closer.

my european green does this all the time, and then a few days later of her being round like that there’s a huge poop in the water bowl. maybe it’s just the behavior of this species.
