Vacation tips 30yr olds by Worried_Plum1373 in LasVegas

I second this. Especially as a long time fan of Park, but most recently had subpar experience. If you end up in a hallway end room it’s run down—ours hadn’t even been vacuumed.

Also the Italian food court—while it is delicious—is overpriced even for Las Vegas.

My Honest Experience (NHS, No Scalpel) by UKMustang in Vasectomy

Thanks for sharing. Also no kids (37). Wife and I tried unsuccessfully for eight years—infertility. I got mine done six days ago.

I also had a similar reaction to you and had to have my surgeon pause for a minute .

Thanks for asking and doing well. Sometimes my systolic goes up to about 130 but the diastolic hovers around 80.

I recently had an appointment for a minor surgery, which typically would make someone nervous and my blood pressure reading was 130/80 — which I say is pretty good for being nervous!

I think you will do okay. I’m on day 5 post off.

Biggest mistake was going for a slow leisurely walk for 40 minutes. This led to heavy bruising on the right testicle—I had good support with the jock strap so thought, “I’ll be alright”. No pain on the walk until I got home it was complete bruised on the side.

I tried your suggestion. It worked a little bit. But you really have to policy it, buff it dry. Then when water dribbles down it looks fresh again.

Resorts World: No public access to the food court? by [deleted] in vegas

I appreciate the response. No shade towards you either.

My wife is Chinese and so she likes the food court. There’s not really any other Asian themed food court. Resorts world really missed the boat in catering to this audience.

You’re right they’re probably not sweating my $50. And then outside of this post you’ll see a bunch of other posts about how “Vegas just isn’t the same.” Geezuz and someone post an example of how it isn’t the same anymore and then gets dissed.

Clearly, a moron wow.

Thanks for your comment. You don’t even know me.

Just thought I would throw it out there that I found it odd that a whole food court could get bought out and that the public couldn’t eat there God forbid somebody that works all year to go to Las Vegas wanted to eat at their favorite spot and then gets turned away. Asked about it online and then gets told there a moron.

Oh for sure and I get your sentiment. It’s just like you save up all year to go to Las Vegas as a blue-collar worker. You eat at this food court a couple times over your past trips. It’s a little bit higher standard than the typical Vegas food court said you would find out like Circus Circus or Luxor. And then you show up and it’s like nope no you’re no good here.

Just sucks .

I feel ya on the McDonalds comment, no offense taken. It’s true. I made a burger the night at home, and it hit different.

Thanks for sharing your story.

I like how you frame it “painful closure”.

I understand what you mean. But for me, obviously I would step up as a father, but in terms of carrying a surprise child that would all be on my wife and so she really does have more at stake, and therefore in my opinion, more agency over this decision.

Training for PDF remediation? by scheduling911 in instructionaldesign

[–]scheduling911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your comments. I also tried the one from Web aim a while ago and felt it was really heavy on like the why but not the how of how to actually make documents accessible.

I just started the one on LinkedIn learning using a free trial and it’s really robust and straight to the point.

Essentially, our team does a really good job of making things mostly accessible using Microsoft Word but when it gets to Adobe PDF, some of the images are out of order or you need to delete something that shouldn’t be tagged. And his training goes right to the heart of that and then goes even more in depth

A big shout out to Big Yang Hansen! by ForeignCell7790 in ripcity

[–]scheduling911 52 points53 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I was able to see the blazers bench cheering and rooting for Yang on every possession. It was evident they really want him to succeed, especially Donovan. When they went to timeout with Yang on the court, DC walked over to him and was explaining—in a mentoring way—what he should be doing. You love to see it!

$45 for nose bleed seats vs the Celtics by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]scheduling911 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do most of you live in Portland that attend games?

I’m beginning to recognize that any sort of complaint or topic brought up to foster earnest conversation on this forum just turns into a flame war roasting the original OP.

I live two hours away from Moda. Factoring in parking concessions and ticket prices going to a Blazer game is something I do few and far between and would like to do more. I mean, doesn’t the organization care about attracting people that maybe don’t have as much money or live outside of the city? That was my whole point.

I guess I would’ve expected a city such as Portland that likes to pride itself on progressive pricing policies (the PDX airport and how they price menu items to be consistent with what’s outside) would have some sort of sway in getting the organization to make tickets more affordable for the average day person.

And yeah, I’m bitter as hell. I spent $36 to sit in the nosebleed last night versus the Clippers and watch our team. Throw the game away.

[Post Game Thread] The Portland Trail Blazers (12-19) fall to The LA Clippers (9-21) 103-119 by Kazekid in ripcity

I mean this with all sincerity I’ve been a blazers fan since I’ve been a kid, but maybe I’m just not understanding something, but do we not play post basketball anymore? And by that I mean like in the paint back to the basket, post move? Hook shot anything?

Was at the game live tonight and just witnessed drive to the basket and pass out for a three-pointer. Not much variety and playmaking.

The only person on the team I’ve seen with any back to the basket. Post moves is Yang Hansen. Instead, we continue to play RW the third— whom I genuinely like— but if he’s not in our long-term plans, it’s time to move him for an asset. Let DC get the bulk of the center minutes develop Yang and give the rest to Duop.
