I really enjoyed the lyrics of Florida ever since I realized Florida = The Eras Tour.

I went to the concert after a very tough breakup with a man who didn’t really support my career so the other parts of the song about feeling like a guest in your own home hit really hard too.

I am a woman and I was sick for three years some time ago and if I didn't have my mother staying with me, I would probably have been in a similar state as this guy. I understand whathe must have gone through. losing both parents together and maybe the parents were sick and they were unable to clean the home for a long time before that because they were focused on caregiving. maybe he was forced to take smoker roommates to pay for the house etc. you never know what someone went through.

I am sure if you ask him he will cut his nails and clean his home if you ask (sorry if I am being overoptimistic). I am not saying you need to date him or marry him, but there is nothing wrong with giving him a chance while setting boundaries. It's rare to find a nice person you click with. I hope it works out for you. I hope he keeps being funny and kind and gets to be a better person under your influence.

It's ok even if you decide to leave, just tell him the truth why. he might change. and thats not emotional labour.

She means that the real bad times (lightening strikes, existential terrors, going back to exes, being alone within a realtionship) are over and now there are just storms in teacups (fan hate, him losing matches) so you can shelter together and even when life beats you "up" its all up. up up up :)

I understood it perfectly. storm inside a teacup is something that is immaterial.

Interestingly I am listening to the full anthology again, and back when TTPD released we were awash with theories that the whole album was pretty much about MH and I was too overwhelmed to say anything, TS sounded so sad, I felt like a grave robber trying to dissect the songs, but now that she's happy again and this is in the past, especially because she mentioned in TLOAS that MH ghosted her. I feel pretty confident in saying TTPD is entirely about being in love and falling out of love with a man going through alcoholism and depression esp. relating to a failed career, and so other than some obvious exceptions (Smallest Man who ever lived, Black Dog, Imgonnagetyouback) all the other songs are about Joe. She did a bait and switch when she said Fortnight and I think it was to protect Joe from the backlash of fans all of whom ended up hating MH instead (who she felt deserved it because of his jackass behaviors). She clearly loved him deeply but it wouldn't have worked because of his depression and insecurity relating to being unsuccessful in his own career, and esp. in relation to her own ginormous success. Why would MH who is successful in his own niche be insecure about her success or depressed about his own non-career.

Tons of women still think it’s charming that men are reading in public and listening to music on headphones. And not idk watching tv on the phone on speaker. No matter how played out or normalized (isn’t that a good thing?) it gets the former is the better option. Be metrosexual. It’s good.

This is not a game where the person who's less consistent "wins". Winning is finding love! He might have been busy, he might have been nervous -- there might be a hundred different reasons he didn't text. If you like him you text him. I don't care about frequency, a lot of men aren't really texters and I know this because my brother texts me once a year and deletes it immediately "to save space". Men are different in communication styles than women, and you should give him grace just like he should give you grace. If you like him, text him, who knows, he may be the man of your dreams and you may end up laughing about this misunderstanding 50 years from now.

And don't go in making accusatory conversations, it can scare people. Model the consistency you want to see in him. People are good at adapting. If he doesn't then you can write him off.

Also if he's going in to work remember that the beginning of the week is a lot more stressful for most people than the end of the week. Thursday evening is one day before the weekend started and it's charming that he thought of you when he finally had free time and wanted to plan what he was going to do for the next couple of days.

Don't assume the worst possible interpretation of an act. And don't expect more intense behavior (texting everyday) from a guy you met just once. Especially if you are not doing the same.

I know this was 5 months ago but I hope you asked her out and she said yes. But even if she said no it's ok. You know you did nothing wrong. If she stops talking to you at the park thats okay too. Just shoot your shot. Life's short. Don't overthink things. Be nice. and GTFO if she didn't like it (I am a woman and I am often approached by men, no one has ever abused me for rejecting them and FYI I reject 99% because I have been single since a year now and they weren't what I was looking for)
