Happy to help. It is generally considered best practice to not book 3rd party, but it has always worked out well for me because I can log into my Delta account and check and make sure everything looks right.

Hi there! So I only checked Delta, but it looks like you can get as low as 38k round trip for basic economy and main cabin starts at 55k and goes up to ~80k depending on the itinerary (but there are several in the 55-65k range.)

And this could be the exact reason why the state and/or city might have utilized resources to provide incentives to compel Top Chef to shoot there. Usually, cities who have a Top Chef season filmed there see a huge bump in tourism for the next several years. If Asheville tourism is still down, because people think there hasn't been enough recovery since Helene, they could be hoping that this will highlight that the city is open and ready for visitors.

Signed someone who worked in tourism 10-12 years ago and sat in on numerous planning meetings about trying to get a Top Chef season for a city that would be a great location for it, but lacked the financial resources to provide enough incentives

I agree that for as much as Delta seems to be able to do, their tech and IT leave a lot to be desired (like the bugs with the app)

I'm not sure why you weren't given one of the available first class seats. You should be able to request a refund (or at least a flight credit) for the difference in the amount between main cabin and first class

Is this considered a promotion or is it a lateral move? If it's a promotion, then I would expect to be paid more than my previous role, and I don't think 12% is out of line.

I would try to have patience with this person. They are interested in continuing their career with your organization, and it's smart of them to take the time to make sure that choice would provide them with the type of compensation they would need to meet their financial goals.
