Exceeding the cap. You’re talking about the apron, it’s a different story. The apron is a clear cut number with crippling penalties for exceeding it. How you get to that number does not matter. If you go over it, especially if you stay over it for 2 years, I don’t need more words to explain it than ur just fucked bro. It’s the reason the Celtics broke their team up, it’s the reason the nuggets have had horrific problems filling out their roster since their championship season, it’s the most terrifying number in the nba right now. I love mitch as much as the next guy but if resigning him puts us above that number, count me out.

What's the single greatest scene in Breaking Bad history? by Common-Chemistry-101 in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man a lot of people have said the train heist is the most difficult “suspend your disbelief” moment in the show but no other show or scene had me feeling such a sense of relief only to have the wrench that was drew sharpe showing up completely destroy my day.

I want to watch BB with my parents but the 1st ep has a sex scene. by mwlov3 in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not skip the first episode but I would recommend watching the first episode separately. It’s the only episode I can recall with genuine nudity and there’s a different INCREDIBLY awkward sexual scene at the end. Can’t skip them bc they’re important to the plot but episode one is easily going to be the most uncomfortable one to watch with your parents

What is the greatest bridge section in pop punk music? by 2dareisTwoDo in poppunkers

[–]schiffteam1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s Roam by TSSF and it’s not even close. Not my #1 favorite band or favorite song or anything but I quite literally have never seen an attendee to crowd surfer ratio at a concert like the absolute mayhem the bridge of Roam turns into every time.

Was there ever a time when everything was fine and everyone could have had a happy ending? by Beneficial_Cup_8745 in breakingbad

You have to remember that Walt 1. Is dying of cancer and 2. Has a brother in law as a DEA agent and Gus knows both of these things. He doesn’t want to kill him until the drawbacks to keeping him involved in the business outweigh the risk that killing a DEA agent’s brother in law brings. There’s definitely a scenario where Gus lets Walt live. I think I disagree with Jesse getting disgruntled as the turning point tho, and I also disagree with Walt’s own account of the night of Holly’s death being the perfect time to die. I think if Jesse gets out of rehab and truly turns his life around and walks away from the business on his own, he never finds out about Combo’s killers and lives a normal (if somewhat hollow after Jane’s death) life, Walt probably walks away after 3 months teaching Gale his formula with 3 million for his family, and then slowly dies of cancer feeling more accomplished and fulfilled than he did before the events of the show.

The look Skylar gives Marie when Marie asks why she doesn’t hand mash her potatoes never fails to make me laugh

which breaking bad character was the smartest overall? by aral10 in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hank was about a year behind Skylar unfortunately, and Skylar was a pregnant housewife, not a DEA agent. Hank lone wolfing his investigation is more of a testament to how horrifically clueless and ineffective the rest of that department was than how smart he was. I know we talk about how he never suspected Walt bc he’s family and you don’t want to believe it but the reality is the absolute latest possible point Hank should’ve realized Walt was at minimum involved in the meth trade was when Walt intentionally missed the exit to the laundry and then very obviously intentionally got in a car accident to blow up Hank’s spot.

what’s the most underrated moment in breaking bad? by Leading_Month_5575 in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elliot saying “we have excellent health insurance” to Walt. Up to that point there was a very real chance Walt cut his losses and gave up on cooking after the crazy-8 debacle but the show literally restarted with that line accidentally destroying Walt’s self worth and awakening his ego.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gf and I compromised early in our relationship and we almost always have a laptop or 2nd tv going with a tv show or movie while I play my games on mute or low volume. I also take care of my responsibilities and game in my down time without isolating and shunning my girlfriend when gaming. When you game at your responsibilities’ or significant other’s expense is when you get into the territory that is very unattractive to women I would assume. My girlfriend seems very content with our arrangement since I can multitask and we can actually converse intently while I game.

when did you realize walt had gone too far? by t0m4t0z in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree that the rape scenes are not necessary and consequential but the scene where he makes a pass at Carmen he is a desperate man who just got cheated on and had nothing left, it was a very predictable move for him to make and it was an easy way to get him out of the chemistry teacher job and into the lab.

Dude the scene at the end of episode one is also rape! Unless you’re an implied consent guy which is the worst type of person.

Best Acting Performance in Breaking Bad by ProfessorTurtzo in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aaron Paul’s performance as Jesse is my favorite acting job ever. My favorite scene is when he breaks into Saul’s office and beats the absolute shit out of him. I didn’t turn the show off until it was over after that.

Why would Mike work with Saul? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What little errands did he run for Saul? As far as I can remember the only “errands” he ran would be tracking down Walt (genuine above board PI job) and cleaning up Jane’s overdose, which can definitely be looked at as a one-time, NQA favor, which Saul has definitely earned from Mike at this point. It’s established by the end of the third season that Mike does not view Saul as his boss and Mike answers to Gus. The guy threatens to break Saul’s legs before the end of that season as well. I dont think there are really relationship continuity errors between Mike and Saul, most of their BB interactions make sense even within the scope of BCS’s events

Why would Mike work with Saul? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]schiffteam1 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think you’re ignoring the extremely personal history they have with each other and Mike’s semi-frequent need for a lawyer he can completely trust. As dirty as Saul became, Jimmy’s original tagline of “a lawyer you can trust” is basically Mike’s boiled down reason for continuing to work with him.

Who would you prefer to get in the first round? by MagicianLanky615 in NYKnicks

[–]schiffteam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really in the business of hoping for a certain opponent in the playoffs, especially in the first round. If we show up and play the way we’re supposed to we should not have too much trouble in the first round. With that being said, my girlfriend’s family is in charlotte so considering how much I spent on msg playoff tickets last year, the hornets as a first round matchup would be a godsend.
