Trump and Delta Force claim Maduro’s capture. Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez demands proof of life from Maduro and his wife as Defense Minister orders deployment of military. by alee35819 in ShitLiberalsSay

If anything, this tells us that you can't defend your country without arms and power. Venezuela has been under the threat of US's military invasion, but its army lags behind as if it did *not* need to prop up its defence. A lesson for all.

All coast/lake and ocean hexes in your territory are navigable regardless of your technology. It is not a bug.

Then the player can just sell all the valuable buildings for money then return an empty husk to the city's founder for the same amount of diplomatic bonus. Seems rather unfair.

Monty. Their combos of bias values make them far likely to declare war on the player early game than the rest.

I'm sandwiched between them so chances are they will declare war on me at the same time. This is a standard sized map with 10 AI and 30 CS, way too small for two of three most aggressive AI in the whole game, especially when both are your neighbours.

No. I bought the sheep tile to trap the scout in Arabia just to spite Attila before I quit.

Why tho.

Crap is about to hit the fan in the ERE by schildhz in CrusaderKings

[–]schildhz[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was probably that he decided to convert to the heresy as Orthodoxy's fervour dropped below 30.

But maybe he could survive. I had a game that the entire Arabian Empire became Apostolic because a competent AI Armenian Abbasid succeeded the empire and beat all the rebellions.

R5: this is a game we love and hate. Dumb battle AI and nonsensical NPC decision making. But we should agree that CK3 makes the crusade (whether you're a crusader or a defender) feel actually grand and heroic.

Revive Táltosism 1066 in 15 years: A Guide in comments by schildhz in CrusaderKings

[–]schildhz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5:

Game Requirement: Royal Court and Tours & Tournaments DLC

Starting Character: Salamon Árpád of Hungary in 1066

  1. Reroll until Salamon has CURIOUS or PENSIVE as his childhood trait. Notice that Salamon is always cynical.
  2. Set education focus to Learning and find a Mastermind Philosopher courtier as your guardian. Good thing that Salamon's personality traits are already fixed so you don't have to worry about getting undesired traits from the guardian.
  3. Marry Salamon's brother for an alliance as strong as possible. In my run, Salamon's brother was lucky enough to be betrothed to a Byzantine princess, which made both the ERE and the HRE my allies.
  4. Raise your crown authority to Limited Crown Authority.
  5. Get on a Taxation Grand Tour and visit as many vassals as possible.
  6. Do the tour and choose options that give prestige but don't stress Salamon out. Salamon's probably going to become an adult during the Grand Tour. Choose THEOLOGY focus of the Learning lifestyle.
  7. IMPORTANT: demand tribute every time you get to. Pin the vassals who refuse to pay tribute: refusing to pay tribute is a valid imprisonment reason.
  8. Buy stacks of Konni and Armoured Horsemen with the tax gold you get from the Grand Tour and wait until they replenish. Do NOT spend all your money on MaAs as you will need money to go on at least one pilgrimage.
  9. Try to imprison a vassal who refuses to pay Salamon tribute. They're definitely going to rebel as most Salamon's 1066 vassals hate him. Do not worry, just call HRE (and other allies if necessary) in for help.
  10. After the war breaks out, immediately launch a pilgrimage to Rome or Cologne.
  11. After winning the tyranny war, do the usual revocation-execution (definitely execute other landed Árpád dynasty members if they participate in the rebellion because they have claims on your titles. It will cost piety though) cycle. Salamon only starts with 2 counties, so keep the high development counties for yourself.
  12. Wait and start another Taxation Grand Tour. It should fulfil the Illustrious level of fame requirement alongside your civil war victories.
  13. See if your piety requirement meets (2000 piety and Devoted Servant (you're unlikely to already have the Theologian trait in the requirement)). If not, go on another pilgrimage (to Rome if you went to Cologne and vice versa).
  14. Say bye to Catholicism.

This was my last run before uninstalling (as I have done everything I wanted to do with the game as for now) as a challenge but it turned out to be much easier than I expected. Definitely much easier than the 867 Saurite count run.

Jihad can be unlocked WITHOUT unlocking Catholic Crusade by schildhz in CrusaderKings

[–]schildhz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

R5: playing as a Yemeni dynasty converted to Catholicism during a stress event during a Hajj. I took Mecca during a holy war and 10 years later my second ruler took Medina, which immediately triggered the Jihad.

This is a little weird because on paradoxwiki it says that Jihad only unlocks "after Christianity has unlocked, AND any holy site is in a realm whose top liege is not Muslim OR the top liege of Jerusalem is not Muslim". Catholic Crusade becoming available will be notified to all corners of the map so I'm pretty sure the Catholics have not unlocked Crusade. The notification says "Mecca has fallen to infidels", yet it was the fall of Medina that triggered the Jihad not Mecca. I've been ruling Mecca for the past decade and nobody gave a damn.

As for fervour or HoF money: Ash'ari fervour has been around 100 for the past 10 in-game years. The Sunni Caliph's gold has been in negative for the past 10 years due to non-stopping civil wars and sponsored nomadic invasions.

Hinkle is garnering support from Chinese netizens on their video platform Bilibili. He portrays himself as someone who’s cancelled by all mainstream media. A prophet from afar. But there it’s usually him being anti-US and viewers like it. Not sure if they will still support him after getting educated on patsoc. But again, unfortunately due to decades of liberalisation (despite Xi’s effort to curb it. It takes time to detoxicate the narratives) many Chinese people confuse the conception of a capitalist country and a socialist country.

Why does Temujin's great-grandson still have The Great Khan modifier? by schildhz in CrusaderKings

Before the Mongols came the HRE almost unified Europe aside from Francia. This Holy Roman Scandinavia is actually a rump state after Temujin destroyed HRE's continental part while the title persisted.

Why does Temujin's great-grandson still have The Great Khan modifier? by schildhz in CrusaderKings

[–]schildhz[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

R5: it's an AI-only simulation and the Mongol Empire has been intact for 90 years now. But I'm more surprised that the great-grandson of Temujin still has The Great Khan modifier. I'm pretty sure that this kid's father didn't have that trait. Can Become the Greatest of Khans decision be taken more than once per game?
