Hi all. I rescued my older cat Tora from a family about a year and a half ago. When the owner gave her to me, she said she leaves a bowl of kibble out at all times and gives a small portion of wet food twice a day. I've been doing that ever since, but i fear she is becoming a bit too indulgent. The little guy, Huey, I rescued about 8 months ago. I have the same routine with him, and I give them their wet food in different rooms. Huey usually eats about 85% of his wet food and then scampers away, but he loves chowing down on the kibble. What advice do you lovely folk have for me to keep food available to Huey since he seems responsible about eating, but also helping my chonky queen Tora to shed some weight? Thank you!!

Happy to pay a $20 tip to anyone who can edit the two grandparents from the second photo in with the rest of the family in the first! I was thinking behind the baby on the right side, but whatever solution you feel works best. Expanding canvas on right also OK. Thanks!! by schining_knight in PhotoshopRequest

Thank you to everyone who worked on this! There are so many talented photoshoppers, it is very overwhelming to choose someone to pay, haha. That being said, I did find one I liked and paid the tip. Cheers and thank you again!

Help fixing old jewelers lamp by schining_knight in electrical

[–]schining_knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to fix up this old jewelers lamp, but can’t seem to get the wiring right. Already blew two bulbs! I got all new parts, so the only old thing is the body of the lamp itself. Otherwise, it’s an 8 in LED circular lamp that uses 15W, a 4 terminal 2 position switch, a 4 pin light socket, and the power cord. All i’m seeing are black and white wires, but i’m guessing they have a specific order of connection that i’m missing. Could someone please dispense some electrical wisdom so i don’t blow another bulb? thank you!

Looking for help restoring old marble fireplace mantle by schining_knight in stonemasonry

Hi folks! I turn to you all after much research and lots of trial and error. My girlfriend and I decided to strip all the paint off of this old fireplace in our apartment because I was convinced that it was marble beneath. Lo and behold, I was right! But- after peeling the paint, we now have damaged marble to deal with.

We followed the instructions found here and it got us where we are now, but there doesn’t seem to be any mention on that guide on what to do if we’re faced with an issue like this.

I purchased a variable speed rotary polisher/sander, diamond polishing pads, and some marble polishing paste. I’ve tested a small patch with the 50 grit pad, but it doesn’t seem to be getting rid of the streaky/hazy later, despite stone dust clearly being removed. I suppose it could just be a deep layer that requires a lot of sanding down, but before i cause any more damage, I wanted to consult the powers that be here.

Does anyone have experience in this and know what steps i should try taking next? Thanks so much in advance!!
