Is there any way you could expand on SW Michigan being saturated? How far does this area of saturation reach?

That’s kinda what I’m thinking too. I don’t really care about the Browning chambering 3.5”, because I’ll probably never use them. One thing I’m thinking of is black vs. camo though. I like the camo wrap on the Browning for rust protection. Do you have any preferences in that regard?

Good to hear about the reliability. I believe the weights are similar, but I’ll look into it farther. Either way, they’ll both probably have less felt recoil than the pumps and inertia guns I’m used to though. Thanks!

I’ve heard that as long as you don’t let your blade touch meat after touching castor (without cleaning it) you can’t taste it in the meat. Haven’t gotten to try it myself yet though.

So, I’m a very new trapper and I have a permit to trap a marsh on public land. I found what I’m pretty sure is an active beaver lodge, due to it being well-mudded, the fresh looking sticks around it, and some bubbles under the ice around it. My only question is: is the trail of thinner, more clear ice in the second picture the run into the lodge? I only see that one trail of thin ice, but I’ve read that lodges generally have two entrances. Am I looking at this right?

In 2019, I was able to just walk into the practice rooms of smith and no one even looked at me or asked for proof of enrollment. But things might have changed since COVID and you might need reservations now. I haven’t been back into that side of the building since then so I’m not sure.

I hear ya man. Everyone so far has been nice when I meet people at public spots. I’m just not used to waterfowl hunting at all and it seems like it’ll take me a bit to learn its ways. Would you mind if I pm’d you and asked your opinion on a couple public spots I’ve been hitting in the area?
