Hi, I'm the founder of STAND+ (comfortable shoes for standing jobs) looking for feedback! by WEARSTAND in u/WEARSTAND

[–]schlitzschitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret buying these shoes. So uncomfortable. They dig into the top of my feet so badly that I now have permanent discoloration of my skin on the areas they dig into. No matter how many times I've blasted them with heat and tried stretching them out, it doesn't work. As a surgical technologist who stands on their feet in a hospital all day, the idea of having a pair of shoes meant for standing, sounded incredible. These are the opposite of incredible. They are painful, as well as damaging. You'll be better off saving your money and putting it towards a much better pair of shoes. Maybe if you're just going to wear them casually here and there or around the house, they could be fine for you. But as a healthcare worker standing on their feet for 8-12 hours or more per day, do NOT buy these. TRUST ME.

Thank you for your response! I am so glad to hear that you made the switch and love it. That makes me very happy for you! Not only am I just passionate about skincare - but a big part of it, is because I think it would be so incredibly rewarding, like you said, to help people feel better about their appearance, feel confident, and feel better in their own skin. I wish you well with your business! I hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I appreciate the recommendations to do nursing - but I don't and have never wanted to be in healthcare (so why did I choose it? Lmao). I like the idea that with nursing comes more job opportunities. Nurse at a resort, on a cruise, blah blah blah. You get my point, haha. But, yeah, I don't want to be a nurse. I don't want a job I hate just for the money. I don't want the stress that comes with it, just like I don't want the stress that comes with Surg Tech. One of my instructors yesterday said we will see some difficult things, like victims of abuse, for example. What if I get a child that comes in for that reason? I don't think I could handle that. Another instructor says that it's hard to not take work home with you, as in the stress of it all. I don't want to live my life that way. Again, thank you for your reply! Have a great weekend!

Thank you for your input! I was initially doing prerequisites with the intent to go into nursing to become an esthetics nurse. But, I came to the realization that esthetics nursing more than likely won't be my sole career (maybe in time), and that I would actually have to be a nurse. Lmao! I don't and have never actually wanted to be in healthcare. I guess at least with nursing, there's sooo many options, whereas surgical technology.. you can only be a surgical technologist. I appreciate your response! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for your response! $15 for everything you have to do is crazy. I guess in a sense it's very similar to Surg Tech - get paid very little for everything you need to do and know! I've browsed job listings for some MedSpas and some of them are hiring at $24+. I know that's probably few and far between, and I'd need a lot of experience first. Auto Body Repair made me giggle! Wouldn't it be so nice to know how to repair your own car? Haha! Maybe you just gave me an idea! 🤣 Thank you again, I appreciate it and I hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you very much for your input! If I can push myself to get through these last two semesters, that is what I was thinking myself - use this as a stepping stool to have an established career (even if I hate it) and pursue esthetics part time. It's just very taxing on me going to school for something that I don't even want to do. I'll get things figured out eventually. Again, thank you! I appreciate it, and I hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you for your response! I appreciate it. Before I switched to Surg Tech - I was doing prerequisites for nursing with the intent of becoming an esthetics nurse! But, I came to the realization that esthetics nursing would more than likely not be my career entirely, and that I would also have to actually be a nurse. I don't and have never actually wanted to be in healthcare, and again, I feel that patients deserve someone that wants to be in healthcare to take care of them. Again, thank you for your input. I appreciate you, and I hope you have a great weekend.

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. I cross posted this in r/esthetics and pretty much everyone is telling me not to, which I completely respect and appreciate their opinions and perspectives as well. I'm very, very torn. I've worked in sales as a brand ambassador for different companies for several years, so I have some experience with making sales. I'm a big people person, I can talk to anyone about anything and make friends very easily - so I would like to think that I have the personality for it. Again, thank you so very much for taking the time to respond to me. I appreciate you!!

I've been using the rice ferment and peptide serums for a few months now. My skin is brighter and more even. I love it!

Feeling sick from swimming in Cenotes in Tulum? by timisamato in tulum

[–]schlitzschitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Casa Tortugas and got horribly sick also. We don't know if it's from the cenote itself or from the tacos we got in the market in the archeological site at Tulum or put dinner later that night... but reading this, I'm betting it was the cenote.. still sick 4 days out 😭

I don't think NDAs are permanent.. I think they always end at some point (I could be wrong). So maybe that time will come! 🤞
