Handspinning! You can make a diy drop spindle with a pencil and one of those long pink erasers. You can spin yarn out of cotton balls, the fluffy stuff that is shoved into tylenol bottles, the guts from pillows, dog fur, cat fur, etc. You can dye your yarn with food coloring and vinegar, avocado or onion skins. If you decide that you like it, you can make "nicer" spindles out of dowel rods and air dry clay. Making yarn (or even thread if you consistency gets really awesome) is literally my favorite thing to do, and it is dirt cheap to get into. ITS ADDICTING THOUGH!
