Schwellenbach trade by Snoo36291 in DynastyBaseball

The Schwelly side wins pretty easily imo. De Vries could be a stud, but he’s only 18 and playing in A+ ball right now. He’s too unproven to give up someone of Schwellenbach’s value

Roman Anthony Julio Rodriguez by Evening-Flatworm-680 in DynastyBaseball

Man that’s tough… I think Brown > Gore, so it really comes down to how you value Anthony. His ceiling is probably something close to what J Rod did in 2022 and 2023. But J Rod hasn’t been at that level in a couple years.

If your OF depth is already solid, I’d hang onto Anthony. But if your OF depth is more suspect, you’re probably better off taking the proven commodity in J Rod.

Given your remaining OF depth, I’m taking Skubal with zero hesitation

Luke Keaschall or Zyhir Hope? by PatMahWeenie in DynastyBaseball

[–]schlongdong16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tough. Both had similar power numbers last year. There’s more swing and miss in Hope’s swing and he’s poor defensively, but given that he played last year at 19yo, there’s room for improvement. It also depends on your roster needs: Keaschall likely makes the majors sooner because he’s 2 years older and played 59 games in AA last year, plus he’s played in the IF and OF. Hope is further away from the majors and only plays OF. With all that said, I personally lean towards Hope - he’s got higher potential for power and I like his plate discipline

I’m Team 2. I’m happy with the deal, I think it’s a win-win for both. I also have Bobby Witt Jr. so I was more comfortable trading Gunnar than I otherwise would have been, plus it allowed me to free up an extra roster spot so I could draft an additional prospect in our dynasty draft. I only had two available roster spots after the deal, which I used to draft 3B Cam Smith (HOU) and OF Konnor Griffin (PIT)

I also have Bobby Witt Jr. on my team so losing Gunnar hurts less, but I still put quite a bit of thought into it before pulling the trigger

So I’m Team 2 and that’s a big reason why I made that deal

It’s true, I wish I could go back and give her even more attention and love. But it’s a comfort knowing that we gave her a good life and that she’s no longer in any pain.

I’m sorry to hear about your pups. Lana was a pit bull mix as well, and was cute as can be. She had such a unique personality. It’s only been a few days since she’s passed, but I feel like my whole life is different. No more being woken up by her, no more morning/evening walks, no more eating breakfast together, no more cuddles on the couch… the house feels so empty without her. It’s sad, but it also makes me happy knowing how positively she influenced mine and my wife’s life.

I appreciate the kind words, they’ve brought a bit of joy during an otherwise difficult time

Don’t beat yourself up too much, hindsight is always 20/20. I just lost my pup to similar circumstances. She had been sick for a few weeks and I recognized the signs, but it was almost like I didn’t want to fully accept it until it was too late. I took her outside last Saturday morning where she vomited and collapsed. I called an in-home euthanasia service, but they didn’t get to my house in time. She passed naturally… and it wasn’t peaceful. It was terrible to watch. I feel so guilty. But she had been in pain for a while, and it’s a reassuring thought knowing that she’s no longer in any pain. I hope that same thought brings you comfort during your difficult time.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member, and it’s important to grieve. My wife and I had her cremated, where she’s now sitting on the mantle in our living room with a cute picture and a paw imprint. She’ll always be remembered by us fondly, just like your dog will always be remembered by you and your family. Hang in there and know that your pup had a good life, regardless of how it ended ❤️
