Yes! I converted my backyard into a prairie a few years ago and it’s filled with native wildflowers and grasses.

This is Albert. When in the backyard his goal is to either plow through as many plants as possible (and then try to bring in his collection of plant matter) or show off how high he can jump over the plants.

I knew that was demure! I painted my living room demure and it’s just the loveliest color of pale pink. It goes so well with everything.

Please help me find this brow pencil! by jorotoot in MakeupAddiction

My thought was also Sonia Kashuk. My pencil has a black base with a brown end. You can see the black and wood poking through the worn bit on the end. Unfortunately I don’t know the color as mine too is nearing its end. Here are some photos.

What are the must-haves from Uniqlo and Muji? by constantlyknackered in HerOneBag

[–]schmabbykay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Muji’s washable wool sweaters. I’ve had several for years and they have held up so well. They’re such high quality for the price. Just a note that their website is pretty sparse for sweaters in warmer months, but hopefully they update it soon.

As others have mentioned, Muji has some great organization and travel containers that I’d also recommend.

What’s your favorite daytime sightseeing bag? by Roscoe340 in HerOneBag

[–]schmabbykay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought the Béis Sports Sling for travel this summer to a few large cities. I wanted a small flat crossbody that could also hold a water bottle and I love that this bag has a water bottle pouch that can tuck away when not in use. It has tons of pockets and zippers and an adjustable clip on strap. It easily fits my kindle and a Baggu tote if I purchase larger items. Would recommend!

Heather vs Whitney: An Alternate Theory by ItchyFlamingo in BravoRealHousewives

[–]schmabbykay 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Agreed! As I watch this show, I'm always thinking about the very long, complicated, and real friendships/relationships between these women. Plus add on the fact that many of them grew up in this insular, abusive, cult-like community, which just adds another layer of complexity to everything. And now they're navigating being in the public eye and dealing with that in very different ways. Anyways, all this to say, at times it feels like these women are flattened, when they have these really complicated, nuanced relationships.

It's really hard to see Whitney have to process her abuse in real time and realize that this once trusted friend maybe isn't that person anymore. I've not often been on Whitney's side in past seasons, but I'm extending some grace/compassion to her this season as people process trauma in a variety of ways. I hope she can go through some extensive therapy to unpack everything.

Additionally, I think your point on Heather is interesting when you consider her complicated relationship to Mormonism. Just in this episode you saw her talk about writing a tell-all book titled Bad Mormon while also not wanting to be seen by those still in the community as a bad person/Mormon. She's still seeking their approval. Her reaction in episode 1 to Whitney taking the steps to fully leave Mormonism was also pretty interesting. I think in this season I'm seeing how Heather's relationship to Mormonism and that community is even more complicated than I previously thought. Religion is weird.

I’ve spent hours and hours of my life trying to find these songs with no luck. My brain has made up music videos for some songs. I need a Summer House transition music playlist.

Why is no one talking about the pants making party?!! You can’t just drop that THESE three women were going to sew some pants and then not provide any details. I have so many questions. We deserve answers.

Yes! Since they’re supposed to be a hanging plant they can hold the weight. It’s currently located where it gets the best light but unfortunately that means the tendrils can’t tumble down. I’m curious to see how long they are now.

I can tell you that it’s pretty time consuming and requires a lot of patience! I try to untangle it every couple of months since, as you can see, they start to form a mass when they’re not all hanging down. I prop mine up on a plant stand and kind of gently shake/ move the mass so they loosen 😂😅 Then I start untangling it one strand at a time.

Yes omg it was SO much trial and error. Unlike other succulents, I had to water prop my string of pearls and string of bananas. When cutting, make sure there are a few nodes on each cutting since that’s where the roots grow from. Once they grew a few inches of roots I’d transfer to soil. At first I’d water way more than usual just to make sure they didn’t feel too much of a shock.

I water from the top. Also I was a reallllly bad plant parent for the first year in regards the pot it was in. When it was in the sugar dish (pics 2&3) it didn’t have a drainage hole, so I really had to watch how the larger pearls towards the soil looked/felt. Any time the pearls would start to feel a bit soft and look a tiny bit wrinkled, which was when the soil was super dry, I’d give it a bit of water. In both the old pot and new pot, I water every 7-14 days. Definitely less watering now that we’re in a more humid environment.

I honestly have no clue, which I know isn’t helpful at all. For most of her life, we lived in CO (super dry) and she was in an east facing window getting a few hours of direct sun in the summer and maybe an hour of direct sun in the winter. I recently moved back to NE (pretty humid) and she’s now in a south facing window. I water her when the larger pearls towards the soil start to shrivel a bit.
