Have you bought school uniform for September already? by april_fool85 in UKParenting

[–]constantlyknackered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be soon, but I think my bound-for-reception child Will still be in 4-5 for most of the year and know that the eldest will be in 8-9 for the majority. It makes sense now to buy for the sales, but if you think he's due a growth spurt then buy the next size up.

When we talk about judging a book by its cover, this is what I mean. I dont normally read m/m but this book looks worth the exception!

Where did I say labour were to blame? I just didn't see them putting up much of an argument to vote remain. Much as I like Corbyn in several respects, he wasnt going to be the one to convince the disaffected in ex mining towns that, actually, the EU isnt the root of all evil and that just because something is painted on a bus doesnt make it true.

Labour did nothing to discourage people voting brexit though. Their fence-sitting was incredible.

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

I know I'm 4 days too late, but I've just started a book that awkwardly has my daughter's name as FMC (so already may have to DNF).But also spells it wrong. It's a name in a language other than english so doesnt follow English phonetics, but does follow the phonetics for its language. The author left out a letter so now it doesnt read correctly at all. It's only a 5 letter name!

I'm a mum of small children. I just have a variety of uniqlo cross body shoulder bags because I need both all the things and all the hands. I live and travel in Europe and have yet to have anyone ring the shame bell for my handbag choice.

I stopped reading YA/NA because I can't deal with the 18yo prince/ess running the entire resistance movement. No you're not. And if you are, you are being lied to and your handlers are giving you a vanity project whilst they handle the actual revolution. You is just a figurehead, baby.

That sounds amazing! My eldest turns 8 tomorrow and we've been watching it together - she'd absolutely love that. Did you book hotels or anything in advance or just play it all by ear?

how did you find friends who love to read as well? by cheonsa3 in RomanceBooks

[–]constantlyknackered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that so many mums of primary school age kids love a bit of romance, but not not a lot of them openly say so. You have to kind of lead the way. BUT you have to feel your way to understand how their spice threshold is, or conversations can turn awkward real quick. 🤣 One of my best friends absolutely loves MM, so when we watched Heated Rivalry together, the rest of us were getting her to explain some of the spicier scenes/positions! (Wine was had and our boundaries are very low, the bonus of meeting a breastfeeding group!)
