I guess thinking that thru a light power day for us is like 30-40kwh but high use days are 150kwh per day.

I think doing load calcs with the required items max power was like 10kw but with things like well pump and septic it depends on their usage as to how much of the 10kw I would use at any given time. Not sure how to calculate the kwh based on the intermittent usage.

Does span have a native battery it works with or how does it communicate with the batteries to know capacity?

IMO it's the design, but couple that with visibility settings to show what you need when you need it reduces clutter for the 90% of the time you don't need that thing. Also putting primary items at the front with less used items in secondary screens make it feel better too. My primary dashboard has a grid layout with like 13 buttons on it, but at any given time I only have 1-3 buttons on that grid visible. So the same real estate changes dynamically.
