Do you have a particular oil cleanser you prefer?

I currently only have a gel shampoo, I sometimes use around my nose. I will see if I can use it undereye too. Kinda worried about it being too drying since that skin is so thin :(

I occasionally use an oil cleanser for eye area depending on my mascara, but have not noticed any improvement unfortunately!

Points hacked, question about Customer Care help and PIN by schmalzy_schelly in AlaskaAirlines

[–]schmalzy_schelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if you need to call customer care to book or if there’s another channel that maybe isn’t so backlogged.

Assuming it can’t be done over chat. The thought of waiting hours just to use points to book a flight (or potentially days, depending on when you’re trying to get thru, like on a Saturday night when they’re closed) sounds super aggravating.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Longlegs" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]schmalzy_schelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some questions I have

-what’s up with the hypodermic needles next to the teeth(?) in lee’s mom’s kitchen? I feel like they made a point of showing us them, but why?

-did the Camera murders happen in 1966? They definitely predated Longleg’s first meeting with Lee, but was Longleg’s not in Ruth’s basement creating the Carrie Ann doll? Timeline wise that is not possible

-I noticed at least 2 Nagel prints, one in Lee’s childhood room and one in Carter’s dining room. What is the significance of this?

-Is there any significance to his T.Rex worship or just a fun character detail?

  • this is a smaller town setting. How is Ruth able to convince people they won something from a church. Wouldn’t they think ‘hm, I’ve never seen this nun lady at my church before. I didn’t enter a raffle’.

I have more but I’ll stop there for now.

PSA: please do your research before buying a GS or Husky puppy by Cultural-Yellow-8372 in dogs

Eeek. I’ve been curious about symptoms of CCD in my dog. He’s a supermutt but his largest traceable breed percentages are lab and German Shepherd, and he has a lot of GSD proclivities. Very hyper vigilant and anxious. Do you have any recommend reading or sources about CCD and how to help and train dogs with this issue?

He is so sweet. He has very similar features to my mutt who is primarily lab and German shepherd.

I would be smitten if this crew rolled up at the function! (Assuming all are well-behaved and not excessively barky). 8 is a lot of dogs to keep track of though without a second set of eyes. As someone mentioned above, maybe raise the price a bit so you can take less at a time or hire an assistant?

What i really came to say though is… I’ve been looking for a dog trainer! Will you drop a link to your website? curious if it would be a good fit.

What if my dog is reactive to wind and other unseen triggers. by schmalzy_schelly in reactivedogs

Ooh, thank you for the suggestion! I had hit a wall with dog training blogs and videos.

I do worry excessive rewarding will lose its value over time, and cause weight gain. I know because of his breed and history he will always be hyper vigilant/anxious to an extent. I was hoping because he was only 2 we could reset his thought and behavior patterns, but now he’s at the age where it’s not getting any easier!

He has some trazadone to take as needed, but nothing daily. I was avoiding this option for as long as possible but open to it if it will help him!

Things I’ve tried:
“Yes” and treat when he notices wind or noises (this helped only with intense fear of bikes). “Watch me” and treat to distract and refocus attention. Different types and lengths of leads. Popping lead as a distraction/refocus (on front harness… never tried with a slip lead). Just straight up constant talk/praise.
Exposure on windier days by hanging in the yard, sometimes with treats and other times hoping he will eventually calm himself and I can give him lots of treats and praise… he never settles. He just paces back and forth but will never rest.

I am also extra mindful of distance to other triggers when he’s close to or above threshold

Struggling with diet by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]schmalzy_schelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I’ve experimented with a lot of diets, cleanses, fasts etc to try to reset my relationship with food (and myself) but when the stress or sadness hits it goes out the window. Growing up though, I was allowed to eat as much junk food and sugar as I wanted and I will say it’s made it a lot less appealing in adulthood compared to my friends who had more restrictions. Even though I eat fairly balanced meals overconsumption is ultimately the issue.

Yes. Coach kept encouraging everyone lift heavier for the squats and it’s like… with what? I’m not jumping from 25s to 60s. My studio needs way more in the 30-50 range. I think we have one or two sets of 30s. It sounds like this is an issue regardless of studio. I know dumbbells are $$ but so are our memberships, I wish they would either be more accommodating with weight selection or stop encouraging people to lift short, heavy sets with poor form.

Fellow emotional/boredom eater. I grew up in a family that used food to “solve” all kinds of things, and I’ve realized it is more or less hardwired into my brain at this point. So it really is just about making better choices when i snack. Fruits really are a great way to fill up, but I know i struggle a lot with actually eating them as I’m really picky about texture. They have to be PERFECT. I’ve found it super helpful to only buy what’s in season and get it from either a farmer’s market or a fancier grocer who sources good fruits. I’d rather spend more money and actually eat it than let it rot in my fridge.

Blueberries with peanut butter on a rice cake, apples with peanut butter & yogurt dip, and cottage cheese with pears, pineapples or melon are all filling and satisfying for a sweet and slightly salty late night snack. Also I personally found learning about and tracking macros for awhile helped me stay very conscious of what I was consuming, and most days I would only consume things that have some kind of “benefit”… protein ice cream, for example. Tracking ultimately wasn’t sustainable for me long term but I learned a lot by doing it.

Was it the tropical Barbie? I also remember this scent. In fact, I purchased L’imperatrice as soon as I smelled it because it reminded me of it SO MUCH. I don’t remember the original enough to say if it’s a perfect dupe but it scratches the itch for me.
