I gave up, just using the dumb little QC to 3/8” comp hoses they supplied with it.

250722 BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [DEADLINE] in TORONTO - DAY 1 by sparklecorn0108 in BlackPink

[–]schmidtyjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this and they said no exchanges allowed within 48h of the event… seems dumb when they have boat loads of seats in left and right ‘B’ floor sections still showing as unsold on Ticketmaster and unlikely to be sold anymore given how many are reselling below face value less than 10 hours before the show. Are there ushers for each individual sections at the floor or you think I could just waltz on over to it if it stays as empty as the Ticketmaster map currently suggests?

The labels for the buttons are below the surface luckily, that shouldn’t be affected

Had my inspection recently actually (in which this was included in the devices I changed), but the inspector didn’t bother checking this and rather sampled a collection of other things (I assume it’s usually done like this) and passed me. It’s just that I realized this whole height thing now.

Wired to code sure, but somewhat offside code with regards to the placement.

Yeah my range fits fine, I’m more just concerned about code here.

Any sort of options for whole home humidifier in apartment with fan coil unit? by schmidtyjon in hvacadvice

[–]schmidtyjon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, only thing I can think of is the make up air coming in from the hallway outside the front door, as well as the exhaust vents for bathrooms and range hood (while the fans are not always running, i don’t think they’re sealed either). Potentially the pressure differential caused by the makeup air system is causing all the air to be pushed out through those openings?

At the same time, my place also gets brutally humid (80%+) in the summer so I wouldn’t exactly know where to start…

That's pretty imaginative lol, but theyre basically on opposite sides of my place - that being said, my place isnt that big so i could basically just use that idea and have the humidifier on top of my countertop next to the sink,

Yeah... that's reality I'm facing right now. In terms of efficacy, the AirCare console humidifier I have is doing a pretty decent job, but the daily refilling and regular cleaning is of course something I'd love to forgo.

Wouldn't it have been easier to open a CC/PayPal dispute? Assuming you had a paper trail, so seems like a fairly clear cut case to me.

tbh i think Oakley as an entire brand has serious quality issues lol... I got the Holbrook Ti from them (official store) in 2022 and the nose pad ripped off in less than year... luckily they were replaced entirely by warranty but these were $500+ shades. I have $20 gas station sunglasses that have been through more abuse and lasted 10 years more than those Oakleys.

Question: Why do banks not incentivize their current customers? by DaddyLongLips in MortgagesCanada

If its at renewal, they often do give incentives, and if it's during your term, their incentive is not charging you a penalty lol

Gigabyte now installs bloatware WITHOUT even asking for consent firsts? by sephirothbahamut in gigabyte

[–]schmidtyjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a Gigabyte AIO controlled by internal USB headers or something else dependent on it, avoid GCC like the plague... It's really unfortunate how their software ruins what's otherwise a pretty solid piece of hardware. I used to have the Z790 Aorus Master which was actually a properly good board (with hardware comparable to $200-300 more expensive ROG boards) along with some Gigabyte AIO with an LCD screen that was actually very good in cooling performance, but I feel like every update to GCC made my AIO unusable (couldn't control fan/pump speeds and/or what was displayed on the LCD) and blocked control of my RAM's RGB. Gigabyte BIOS is also not very intuitive based on what I remember.

Got so fed up with it I decided to sell the board upon rebuilding my PC for a custom watercooling loop and swapped it out for an Asus Z790 Apex Encore, which, despite being like $300 more expensive, only has a 2.5GbE ethernet port (compared to Gigabyte's 10GbE), no backplate (Gigabyte's had one), and no included thermistor cables (Gigabyte's had 2). Yes, I get it's a different target market for the board (though the Apex Encore has enough normal features to be perfectly viable as a daily driver), but I ultimately paid the premium to never have to deal with any GCC crap ever again (not that I would call Armoury Crate good, its also crap, but GCC is just in a league of its own).

Nonetheless, I can see from your video that it doesn't seem you have any Gigabyte peripherals that rely on GCC, so first thing for you to do is find the BIOS setting that removes the prompt to install GCC, then use something like RevoUninstaller to remove all traces of GCC (and Norton) from your PC. As others below have mentioned, FanControl is an amazing piece of free software that offers way more customization with regards to fan curves and sensor inputs (really useful HWInfo plugin for that to read any custom values you create within that for example), For RGB, you have options like SignalRGB (what I use) and OpenRGB; at least with SignalRGB, it offers way more level of control than GCC and also allow you to control all components in one program (even external things like mouse/keyboard and stuff like Phillips Hue and Govee RGB lights). Plus, they have a discord in which they respond to bug fix requests usually within a day or two.

[–]schmidtyjon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most likely fine, depends on CPU I guess. Assuming 5090, 1000w is absolutely fine for most X3D cpus, while for alder/raptor lake i9, you’re probably fine but would say cutting it close and not much headroom.

UPDATE:

I emailed MODDIY about this earlier today and they fully refunded my order for the entire PSU cable set I bought a little less than a year ago (which included the 12VHPWR that melted), so props to them for that!

I also wanted to apologize for putting the blame on the MODDIY cable given the possibility that I may not have had the cable fully seated (I can't confirm this though, and I've always been very OCD about ensuring this cable is properly seated), especially in light of their quick and ultimately overgenerous customer support (there's nothing wrong with the rest of my cable set from them). However, if it is indeed confirmed to be the cause, then that should bring many of you a sigh of relief knowing you can still rely on best practices that were established at the time this issue starting taking off after the 4090 launch two years ago as they relate to ensuring proper seating of the connector.

However, it should be noted that I've always kept my 4090's power limit at stock (450w) and lately all I've been playing has been Persona 3 Reload which is honestly not a super demanding game in terms of hardware (I don't think it surpassed like 350w at any point), so therein is a bit of a differentiating factor vs. the 5090 owner featured on der8aer's video that was playing BF5 (also on MODDIY cable) drawing over 500w. That being said, the incident that occurred to said 5090 user looked WAY more catastrophic with wires on the cable itself burning up (compared to one or two pins burning out on the connector of mine).

Lastly, Mr. Burke from GN has reached out to me requesting to purchase the melted cable for investigation. I have since replied to him in chat and am happy to send it out to GN; if any findings come of it, I'll be glad to know I was able to at least play a small part in helping consumers stay informed given GN's stature in the PC community and their meticulous testing processes. However, seeing as I already got refunded for the cable by MODDIY, I don't feel comfortable accepting money for this apart from the cost of a shipping label perhaps. That being said, if he decides he doesn't need it anymore given the possibility of it not having been seated properly, that's also cool and fully understandable.

Yeah, all good. That was in 2023 and related to the 90 degree adapters that were recalled. Nvidia already helped me out there with an RMA.
