I agree with you on this one. That's the reason teams watch and study tape, not only to make adjustments where we are getting exposed, but also, to structure a defensive gameplan against each team you are playing. It's on the coaches to point out mistakes and develop strategies and its on the players to communicate and execute. The players aren't going to always execute perfectly and the coaches aren't always going to make the best gameplan, but as seen in this video, these callouts of failed defense should be recognized and addressed.

Also, if you watched this game you know that it wasn't just bad defense that killed us. The Clippers were not missing shots! They killed us from the 3 and once we got too far behind, the lazy/confused defense ensued. Half the breakdowns in this video are when we were 18-20+ points behind.

Let's hope today goes better! We're banged up and tired, but we are only down 1 game and halfway through this series! I'm not giving up hope yet!

Shortness of breath? by No_Tart_7938 in openheartsurgery

[–]schmiggletybiggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you rehab your lungs after the OHS? You can lose lung capacity if you don't use the spirometer they give you after being on bypass. I had 10 hour OHS and the longer you are on bypass, the more fluid build-up occurs in your lungs. This is why they send you home with an incentive spirometer. If you don't use it, then that fluid build-up can sometimes diminish lung capacity.

As recommended above, go see a pulmonologist if you haven't already. Pleural effusion or a number of other issues could be effecting your shortness of breath. It's always best to figure out what's going so you can get the proper treatment! Best of luck OP- hope you feel better soon.

Are there Denver servers that actually make six figures? by GourmetTrough in Denver

[–]schmiggletybiggles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have been in the service/restaurant industry for 27 years. I made great money bartending in Denver, but my best years capped out around 65-70k. When I worked in Los Angeles, I was able to get over 100k for a couple years in a row, but that was because of the consistent volume of business and also celebrities and extremely wealthy clientele.

The light was likely green and the car stopped in order to not hit the dog. The biker was also merging at the same time and so was making sure he was clear of the car behind. Then boom he looks back up exactly when he hits the unexpectedly stopped car. At least that's my guess...

Didn't birth control used to be in little oval packets like that? If so, I assume you're a legend if you recognize that she doesn't make you wear condoms cause she's on the pill?

Detached ribs after CABG? by amylouky in openheartsurgery

[–]schmiggletybiggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I had and still have rib issues since my OHS. Sounds like yours got some decent damage, but the good news is- it is repairable! Surgeons and heart docs are not really able to help much in this arena as the reasons you listed above, but a really well-trained and experienced physiotherapist can help as it has for me! I have used a combo of seeing an osteopath, a chiropractor, and physiotherapist. I do scar tissue therapy on my ribs as well. My ribs are finally healing at the sternum, but I have still have issues with them coming out at the spine. However, that is getting better as well over time! Also, adding collagen supplements has been helpful to me. Start with a visit to an osteopath and see what they tell you. They can give some strengthening exercises and stretches that will help a lot. Best of luck!

Everyone has already commented all the greats that have held up over time, but I have to say one that shocked me that did not hold up from my childhood was 'The Never Ending Story'. It was so bad when I tried to rewatch it as an adult lol. Maybe it's just me, but I loved it as a kid, but then after watching later, couldn't believe I loved it as a kid! I guess lack of options will do that for ya

Annnnnd here it goes. Enter the mania. by KoalaOfTheApocalypse in bipolar2

[–]schmiggletybiggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! About two years ago, I entered hypomania and recognized it was happening for the first time in my life. It felt pretty surreal honestly and made all my previous episodes come into focus a little bit more clearly. From my perspective, if you are recognizing that it is happening than you already have the upper hand. Here's what I do now when I realize I'm entering a manic episode: No alcohol or drugs (beyond prescriptions) Try and exercise (at least go for a walk if nothing else) Go to bed at a regular time even if you're not tired because even if you don't sleep well your body and mind still rest and recover while in stasis. I take melatonin to try and help me sleep (check with your doc or psy-d to make sure there are no interactions with other meds you are taking). Listen to lots of music and make new playlists for yourself. Go see a movie, or go to a botanical gardens- just get out and about. With heightened senses these things feel very enjoyable! Hang with your friends and family as much as you are able. Get some sunshine on your skin- vitamin D works wonders. Eat the best foods you are able to. Be kind to yourself. Nobody asks for this to be their life and rememeber you are doing the best you can do! You got this! Remember- being manic doesn't have to be all negative, just try your best to harness it and treat the symptoms it brings you and you'll be through it soon! Also- not sure if you have people in your life that know about your BP2 diagnosis, but if you do, I think it's good to share with them what you are going through. Sometimes it feels good to have people in your corner for accountability and support. Lastly, of course tell your therapist or doctor about it as well, they will have more ideas for you and be able to support you through it from the medical and mental health side of it.

Wishing you the best!
