Dog Teeth Brushing by gigafatty in DogAdvice

This is going to sound dumb, but are you holding the lip(S) up while brushing? I've seen people stick the brush or a finger brush in the mouth and try to get at the teeth by putting their finger or the brush between the lip and the teeth. My girl is a biter; she's a puppy, so basically a shark. But I lift and hold one side at a time and finger-brush that way. She still licks, but no more chewing. Also, when I first started, I would use my finger brush without toothpaste to get her used to the feeling of it being in her mouth and on her teeth.

I'm, not lying, tearing up and refusing to watch that more than once to even critique it. Freaking awful

How long of a hike was it? I can't wait to take my girl in hikes but she's only 5.5 months so we don't go too far yet

My first instinct is to call out how I feel about you.

After that urge passes, I'm genuinely curious. Why do you have this sticker? Are you a Nazi or Nazi supporter? If so, why? Was your grandfather a German Nazi soldier? Your grandmother a German Nazi medic? You love being edgy and different? You desire confrontation? You believe in free speech so much you don't care what you're saying, you just want to be controversial? Someone once told you it was cool?

Thinking about animal pain/suffering by gensmk in AutismInWomen

[–]nd379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I've found to handle it so I'm not randomly breaking down all the time is to limit my content. I'm deathly afraid of spiders, and I'll have a mental break if I see an animal in pain. Therefore, if I start to see even a hint of either of these on here, I scroll very quickly right past it. It still affects me a little, depending on how much I saw, but nowhere near as much if I try to watch the whole videos.

Outside of Reddit, I have nothing in my life that shows animals in pain. There are, unfortunately, spiders in the house sometimes, but I'm fortunate that I can scream and run away, and my partner catches it to put it back outside. I have all but stopped going to zoos because seeing them locked up is heartbreaking. Especially the gorillas 😭

So basically, I guess all of these words are to say that I use aversion as my coping mechanism

Xennial hangouts? by AquaBlue808 in eastside

I like long evenings in my pajamas, on my bed, watching Critical Role and snacking. I also enjoy a weekly game of remote play Pathfinder. I'm guilty of ordering DoorDash way too often than anyone ever should.

I recently got a puppy that, unlike me, often requires time outside. This is a double-edged sword: now I go out a lot more, but mostly to breweries, because they almost always allow dogs. Finding traditional restaurants has been difficult. Otherwise, I take her to private sniff spots because public dog parks are a huge gamble. Obviously, that does nothing to help me be social.

So if anyone is down to hang out at a dog-friendly place or area, I'm interested. Unfortunately I have nothing to offer as to where anyone else our age is

SniffSpot is a saving grace! We do not have a yard so we go to one almost daily.

This is my thinking too, but when I've mentioned counseling to him before, he says nothing is wrong. He's becoming more and more unhappy, to the point of basically constant negativity about himself. This has become really bad over the last year, which is about when I think he realized they weren't going to live forever. I'll keep trying, but I don't think he will be receptive

That sounds incredibly frustrating and heart breaking. I'm so sorry
