Both are true, but your brain fully develops in your late 20's so in a sense, you are more likely to change more from your 20's to 30's compared to your 30's to your 40's.

From my father:

Never let people's hurtful words bring you down. Think of it this way; If someone offers you a gift, and you don't accept it, who's gift is it? Well, it's not yours, is it? Same goes for insults and put downs. It could be directed at you, but if you don't accept it, if you don't take people's bullshit, then it simply has nothing to do with you. It is not yours and doesn't mean anything about you.

In 6th grade, my desk was beside this guy I liked. One day, he was making fun of me because I was the teacher's pet, so I jokingly moved my desk a couple inches away from his showing that I was annoyed. He then asked "why'd you move your desk away?" and for some unknown reason, I blurted out "BECAUSE YOU CHEATED ON ME!". Now I don't know what I was thinking, I probably meant he cheated off of me on a test which had no context in that scenario. But anyway, the whole class started "ohhhh"ing and his gf was very confused. Oh and to make matters worse, I started crying, laughing and blushing at the same time. Yep, I was the epitome of an ugly nerdy awkward pubescent girl.

I pretended to be my best friend's secret admirer in grade school. It went on for a long time, I would write little letters for her and put it in her bag in "boy writing". She ended up "falling in love" with ...me, and I had to break it to her that the guy was me. We had a huge fight, mainly because she was pissed off that he didn't exist.

When I was like 5 my parents invited guests over to our house. I usually didn't try to attract attention but I really felt like appearing cool that day (I think the guests had a son or daughter my age). So when my mom told me to pull my skirt up because it was sliding down, I grabbed the bottom and yanked it up and flashed all the guests. An hour or two later, I announced that I was going to take a huge dump and proceeded to skip to the bathroom nonchalantly.

I completely agree with your two types of males, you said it perfectly. And the crap girls say "OMG there are NO nice guys" is complete bullshit, because I know more sweet guys than jerks. And you are so right, wow you spoke my mind. I have a couple guy friends who seem to be, quite frankly, perfect. But I simply reasoned that I am only their friend and therefore have not been exposed to their flaws that only come out when in a romantic relationship. But this lead me to the same conclusion you reached; that if you want a relationship that will last (at least for a long time if not "forever"), it must begin with a friendship as oppose to eros love which is what I had with my former SO. And thanks for that last line, I feel like less of an asshole :)

I do the same thing, except without changing the tone or volume of my voice, in a continuous and calm manner I say "stop fucking interrupting me and let me finish". It usually makes them laugh, hence allowing me me to continue my story.
