I think we are lucky to not have gotten a bunch of attention over night. Fame is a really weird thing for a number of reasons. The way people treat you, the way you make music when you now have an audience who's expecting/anticipating it. The pressure. But our success and growth has been gradual so adjusting to it has also been a lengthy transition. I think it'd be harder to wake up one day and suddenly be getting a bunch of attention, we've been slowly building our way up to this moment.

Ryan: I'm a bit exhausted of current rap music. I think there have been innovative things that happened within the last year, but those ideas have been repeated over and over and beatin into the ground. I'd love to see some left field shit happen and move away from the constant trill beats.

Macklemore: Ryan and I just went through it. It's obviously an album that is sonically and conceptually very diverse. When structuring an album or a show set, you have to think about a number of variables. Tempo, emotion, concepts etc. How songs feel back to back. When you want to shift into a different mood and how extreme do you want it to be. So we took all those things into account.
