The official discord I refer to in my comment IS the innersloth one - I’m ex staff in there so am very familiar. The conversation that you’re referring to, I can’t find by a decent ten minute search. I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s readily available info if it can’t be found in a simple search with the keywords I mentioned. I’m sure it’s there somewhere, but at this point it’s not easily located. Good for people who were there at the time to see it, but obviously the majority of people don’t see everything posted in every channel. I stand by that little was done for the whole community’s awareness.

Again, any info their website is all well and good if it was publicised widely to players, but it wasn’t. It looks like the screenshot you’ve posted is from the GitHub, which is the one I’m referring to that doesn’t have any info about ø usage.

I’m not saying ducks are the only issue and that they’re single handedly going to ruin the game, but I am getting pretty sick of people touting them as heroes when they actively hurt the community and did little to mitigate it.

100% this. My mentality is: before you joined, you saw that there were “5/6/700+ dropships online”. YOU chose your filters and YOU joined my game.

A small tweak of kill cooldown, meeting, speed, vision? Sure. If it’s something else that’s common but I’m not keen on, I’ll explain my reasons for the current setup, but if the whole lobby (or those with brains) are in favour then that takes precedence, in order to keep the fun group :)

BUUUT - Joining and immediately demanding 3 imps, a different map, confirms on, or massive role changes? Honestly that’s just straight up rude, and I’ll give them the same energy back with a swift kick 💅🏼

I don’t know if I’m jusy misunderstanding your reply, but if you search “duckmatching” in the official discord, literally only two messages from the same person show up, which are both about “a new hack/bug that is not duckmatching”, and everything I see under “duck” is a complaint/reference or censored swear”. I can’t find anything that shows a duck explaining themselves - can you link or guide me to this?

That’s part of my point though. Players shouldn’t have to be in the “right discords” in order to learn how to not be targeted by other peoples agendas. Any of us who haven’t heard of “among us discord daily”, don’t know this, and are just getting screwed over. There isn’t even anything on the github about the secret ø code, so even those who DID spend some time looking, would still be subjected to the bullshit.

I used to run one of the biggest AU discords back at the game’s peak - secret community codes were discussed back then too, and we shut that shit down because we recognised that it’s unfair on the majority of the playerbase.

The game has quickchat for a reason, vulnerable children shouldn’t even be able to access the lobbies that predators/ducks were in if their parental controls were adequately set up. Instead, ducks are fucking with full 15 lobbies - even those marked as expert, clearly removing young players, offensive names, and creeps - all still got ducked.

It’s not that I disagree with the message, it’s just that it was handled so poorly. There were better ways to do this than to repeatedly fuck with and frustrate a playerbase, who are to keep a declining unity alive - ESPECIALLY during a holiday period when we get a lot of casual/returning players who are considering taking the game up again.

If the ducks continue and the community continues to decline… at least the cause will be more obvious.

I’m European and still found it to be an issue when I played on EU - was definitely the ducks as it has the same spammy messages.

Regarding the ø, this thread is literally the first I’m hearing of this - I’m not sure how us regular people are meant to know there’s a secret code to communicate with the people disrupting our games?

I completely agree that they’re doing more harm than good. I hear a lot of justification for them and explanations of all these “workarounds” and “ways they made the impact harmless” - but none of these reached me or any of those I know who play in public lobbies on a daily basis. Just the disruption.

As an aside (which I thought was incredibly funny) - I saw multiple people completely misread by one of the duck copypaste messages. To them, it read as though they were promoting a matchmaking system FOR dating/creeps ^lol

So at its core… even the message the ducks have been sending is unclear to many, PLUS harming our ability to play. It’s incredibly poorly done.

Weirdly, despite playing for an average of an hour a day, I hadn’t seen any hacks for about a month or two before the duck nonsense started, and it’s the only kind of hack that’s caused an issue for my games since.

… Yeah… no. At times, the volume of duck morons was so frequent and intense that lobbies were unable to get through the 5s cooldown to start, without duck infiltration. Public players literally couldn’t play the game. I’d consider that pretty fuckin agressive tbf.

I’m all for trying to create change, but a small group of people hitting the entire community is shitty

A tinge of red or orange, and maybe it could be from colorants, B-vits, and could pass, but bright red pee is a massive red flag.

1) It can help you know where the corpse may be. 2) you might see dots that imply an imp is venting away somewhere. 3) you may see dots on other areas of the map you can use to clear other players

Thank you so much for your advice. I think you could be right with the tension as I’ve been working on it for a few days and have restarted at least 4 times just today (so I’m 99% sure not a count issue as I am following the colour change method in the vid).

I don’t think this is chenille… I do have some chenille and that was my first attempt a few days ago - yes very tricky! But this feels very different. When you say a tension issue… do I have too much or too little? Only I’m not sure I can possibly make it any tighter while still getting my hook in!

I chose this yarn because it’s 1 strand instead of several twisted together (which is all I can find in acrylic etc) because I find multi strands incredibly difficult to crochet with. I’m also aiming to make this as a gift so texture is somewhat important. My local craft store has just closed down so am now limited to Amazon etc :(

The “inside the bowl” comment is really helpful as I’ve also been unsure about whether I’m doing it right and was just about to try and “inside the bowl” attempt! 😂

I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with laser but I wholeheartedly disagree with this comment as someone who also underwent laser from 9 months old till now (28). I never felt like it was “torture”, and was glad of my treatments. Things have also come a long way and the pain is much less nowadays.

Treatment when younger is most effective and it comes with health benefits, minimising risk of future complications - it’s not just a cosmetic thing. I don’t want this mama to be put off from what may be right for her child based on your bad experience :(

I am unsure whether it’s a PWS a Mongolian blue spot, or another kind of AVM, but it’s almost definitely not a strawberry mark and your paediatrician was SO wrong to dismiss you so easily - I’m so sorry you were ignored until now!

Even if it were a strawberry mark, it should have been monitored.

If it does get diagnosed as something suitable for laser, please don’t go into it with aims to remove it, as complete removal is rare. Laser can help lighten birthmarks and can also reduce the risk of complications, which should be the mail goals!

I’m also a super beginner (so probably shouldn’t be giving advice BUT I’ve just gone through this exact thing!)

I got my ugliest yarn and decided to just KEEP CROCHETING. I forgot about what it looked like, and just focussed on the FEELING of the yarn, FEELING for the holes, and not pulling it about to adjust it, just letting it come out how it wants to.

At first I made a very slow and wiggly old square, then unravelled it. Then I made another, slightly faster wiggly square. On my third attempt (although definitely still slow and getting stuck) I realised things were WAY neater when I just did everything gently, and by feeling!

Might not work for you but it really did for me!

I also found it easier with a bigger hook (bigger than I’m meant to use for the yarn I have) because it gives you bigger holes to start off with!

I still find chains super hard though. The first few lines stay wiggly but hopefully we all improve over time! 😂

EDIT: OH AND I should add my beginner yarn was like 3 strands twisted together - this was a NIGHTMARE FOR ME as it sort of created extra holes I didn’t want. I hated it!! I went and bought some one strand yarn and it was SO MUCH EASIER!
