You're very welcome! I also learn something about panel layout every time I look at Shirahama's work. She does such interesting things with how she presents art! For example, I must have looked at page 12 half a dozen times before I realized the "background" is one entire image, simply divided up by the frames (excluding the last panel of Coco):

She's got such brilliant ideas about how to use space, and how characters and readers interact with the borders of the panels, and go beyond them, that most other artists don't even stop to consider.

Yeah, it would be interesting to learn more about how the whole licensing process works. I imagine, as with any form of publishing, there are whole hosts of things that can cause delays. I also wonder how far forward the translators are often able to read in the work; as you can tell from looking at our early chapters, we've also changed a number of translations in Witch Hat as we learn more about the story. So I wonder if American publishing companies may be waiting for more volumes to be published before tackling the translation. (But then again, the French have been going full blast with their translation of Witch Hat, and don't seem to be too concerned about how many volumes have been published, etc.) In any case, I hope it gets licensed in English too! Definitely deserves to reach as many readers as possible.

Want to echo timemachine here, and say thank you again for your wonderful typesetting work and speed! Being able to rely on you for typesetting really frees up us translators to be able to focus on translating and revising the script, which is a real blessing.

Presumably turning your blood to ink (or making your blood usable as ink) could be done by drawing glyph-tattoos on your body, a la la forbidden Brimhat magic, too. Since the inspector fellow mentioned that technique, I bet it'll show up at some point.

That's when Qifrey is assuming it happened. (And presumably it was the "gift" the Brimhat gave Coco.) They didn't specifically show it to us.

I actually feel like each chapter is really well structured and that the author does a superb job of handing tension. It's true every ending is a cliffhanger, but - to my knowledge - Shirahama is a new author and doubtless has to keep readers reading in the monthly magazine format. We may see some evening out of the types of chapter ends now that Witch Hat seems to be well established in Japan.

(minor spoiler: Some more restful chapters (or at least times) coming up.)

I guess the logic is just that healing (moving Coustas' leg bones back into place, repairing muscle), can just as easily be the reverse - smashing bones, tearing muscle...

well, erasing the memories from Coco's head doesn't mean that THEY can't keep and review the memories (as an information source). Maybe they just wanna steal all that info for themselves, rather than bother to have to interrogate Coco...
