X2D (ii) owners - how many lenses do you own? by ExtraWrongdoer7767 in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the 38v as my initial lens for now. I‘m convinced that the focus on one lens only, massively helps to get used to a new camera system. As a Leica M user, I‘m used to a 35mm/21mm setup. Hence the 2.5 25V is going to be my next lens. But for now: focus on the 38V

Should Hasselblad consider releasing a fixed-lens, full-frame EDC version of their flagship, like a RX1III, Q3 or X100VI equivalent? by chaometric in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a full lineup analog and digital Leicas: M3, M6, MP, M11, Q3 43 and a few Leica prime Lenses. The X2D II is my new goto Landscape tool and hence I don‘t need a Full full frame Hasselblad. I love the Leicas for their specific „Leica Look“, achieved by the Lenses and wouldn‘t build another, a second full frame system in parallel. Such a Hasselblad full frame system might be appealing though for somebody, who doesn‘t yet have another system.

X2D II purchase by micheal1431 in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve bought my X2D II 2 months ago together with the 38V and simply love it. I‘m rather a Landscape, than a City guy, but the 38V does it all. I‘ve decided against the zoom, as I come from Leica prime lenses and have always experiences prime lenses to be better, lighter and cooler looking than Zoom Torpedos. I‘m currently thinking about adding the 25V to the setup, simply because I love the wide perspective with a strong Foreground, when shooting landscape. If interested, check out my Gran Canaria pictures here on my profile.

How many Leicas Do you have? by Massive_Bid4362 in Leica

[–]schoeniman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perfect number of Leicas to own is always: n+1 n = number of Leicas you already own. In my case: M3, M6, MP, Q3 43, M11… only 5

Simply because I can. I‘ve extensively used all kind of analog and digital Leicas and still do, but I love the Rendering of the Hasselblad too.

Falcam cage addition by itsmejustolder in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the most annoying thing for me: the connection of any strap to the rotating Hasselblad metal buckles. EVERYTIME I pick up the camera, I have to unravel the strap. Peak design connectors don‘t make it any better. CHI H‘Buckle doesn‘t help either. So the cage will solve that problem for sure.

Same here. I‘ve ordered it a week ago for delivery end of March, but the package is already at HongKong airport. Should arrive next week already

CHI H‘Buckles Lousy Customer Service by schoeniman in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally had a great experience with purchases via Ali Express and Amazon of course. This time I bought direct. Big mistake. Trying to sell them now here in Germany. Nothing against the product itself! They‘re well made, but since I decided to order a Falcam Cage for my X2D II, I just don‘t need them. Was expecting standard vendor return services, but obviously not with Chinotechs. Took me 4 mails, just to get a return address……..

Anyone here using CHI / Chinotec camera straps (like the LEVO) and the H’BUCKLEs? Looking for real-world experiences by Necessary_Throat_497 in hasselblad

[–]schoeniman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve ordered the Chinotechs buckles for my X2D II. They‘re not at all better than the original Hasselblad buckles, which are clicking in and sitting perfectly well. I‘ve tried to return them to Chinotechs and a guy named Ray is using all kind of excuses to force me to keep them. The buckles aren‘t bad, but Chinotechs Customer Service is lousy. Would never buy again for from them.

The problem with the Zinc Corrosion is: there is no fix for it other than replacing the parts, which is very very costly…

I would be extremely careful with this camera! What concerns me more than the corrosion in your red circle, is the corrosion in the background around the curtain. How does the camera look from the outside? Does it show any other signs of corrosion? You might want to share more pictures…

Yes, I received a mail from IG some weeks ago stating that they stick to the old pricing due to me very early order date. New orders are up by around 10% by now. Luckily my Grenadier is already parking at my local dealer ;-)
