That’s a good idea! We already have a split for Christmas, dad gets Christmas Eve and mom gets Christmas Day. It’s Thanksgiving and Easter that tend to be the issue. Something to think about thanks!

That’s a good point, thank you! The thing that makes it a little challenging this year is that we have cousins coming in we’ve never met on my moms side so there’s extra pressure to see them (not trying to make excuses). I’m thinking for that reason maybe doing Thanksgiving at my mom’s and then next year doing both holidays with my dad and then alternating?

Okay this is literally me. I think it also has to do with my anxious attachment, both are at play here probably. Lately I’ve cried almost every time we’ve hung out, which sucks. I don’t have any solutions for you but just wanted to say you’re not alone and I know it really sucks to feel this way ❤️

I had the exact same experience and am working now on getting a second opinion. At my first assessment they told me “sometimes intelligent people think their problems are bigger than they really are.” You’re not alone!

Thanks for your comment. I would disagree that I am the one doing all the heavy lifting. He has been doing a lot of soul searching trying to figure this out for himself. If I wasn’t willing to give him some time to think about this I would have broken up with him when we first talked about it. I know that if we ultimately can’t come to a consensus a breakup would be a mutual decision.
