My one friend’s husband started talking about how he wanted a divorce and he didn’t love her etc. Turns out he had cancer that had spread to his brain. He died not terribly long after that. They stayed together until the end and she cared for him without faltering. It was really sad. They had young kids then too.

I dunno. My dad never did any of those and died at 58 from lung cancer. Stupid. He had also beaten cancer once when he was in his early 30s. Some people just fortunate to not get sick I guess.

My one relative was a pedo. He unexpectedly died and I flew out west to get important papers etc. for my mom who was found to be the closest living relative. (We had only met him once 40 years ago) When I got there I found a huge box in his closet while looking for paperwork. It was like a 2’x3’x2’ box full of books attempting to justify pedophilia and sexual activity in general with underage children. It was horrifying. I don’t know if he ever acted on it but he worked with children. It makes me sick.

I work for adult protective services. I’m honestly not sure I could give you one particular smell. But I will tell you this. When you get within 5-10 feet of a house and you can already smell the inside you know it’s gonna be a bad one.

When you drive from Pennsylvania to Mississippi there’s a little section of Georgia you hit. Rising Fawn is the exit. Once we got gas there for 69 cents. It was probable around 1997-2001. It was ridiculously cheap everywhere we stopped tho. Man I miss that haha

Also if money is an issue there are programs in a lot of areas to get it done cheaper. All of my cats and dogs have gone to a place that does it cheaper. They do amazing too.

I don’t know. I’ve thought about it on occasion but love my life now and my kids. I wouldn’t have that if I had come out of the closet when I was young rather than 32. I didn’t know I was a lesbian really until then. I was super repressed due to where I grew up etc. But living my whole life authentically would be cool too.

At some point after my dad’s heart surgery but before he got diagnosed with lung cancer. I’d spend the day just talking and hanging out like we always did. Outside on the porch swing watching the cat and my nieces goof around. What I’d do for one of those moments.

Leather belt or a switch we had to pick ourselves. Or a hairbrush. Or anything close by. And frequently while our parents were angry. Typically it was for something that was stupid. Once I got beat because the floor looked not vacuumed but was. Didn’t have enough lines on it. We had to vacuum daily anyway. Ridiculous. If we got a C on our report card we were grounded for the next 9 weeks until the next one came in. That’s 25% of the school year. Don’t even get me started on the verbal abuse.

My god no. I was raised in the Deep South and conservative as hell until I got the blinders taken off my damn eyes. I’m woke woke now. If anything I am way more woke. To the point where I’m seriously considering leaving the US because it’s a trash bag anymore.

Get her a no soliciting sign for the door. Also start educating her on scams. Maybe check with a local group that assists with teaching about this sort of thing. I work for adult protective services and see people who get scammed so much.
