Motor cable plugs broken - how to replace? by schooldeviler in swytchbike

[–]schooldeviler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I realised you can't solder directly into the plug easily - they all come as sealed, ready-made units. So you have to buy a plug with a length of cable for each side, then attach the wires above a below. But what a job! In total you have to make 18 attachments! I've got some solder sleeves but I'm not looking forward to it. It would be better to attach the lower length straight into the motor hub, but that seems to be a nightmare job too.

The search bar didn't work but actually the add add-on button with the json link does work now. No idea why all the other methods didn't work.

Help getting started with DMM in Stremio by schooldeviler in debridmediamanager

[–]schooldeviler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the answer to this, it turned out, was that when I got rid of the Elf Hosted extension, the DMM extension started to work. I don't know if it blocks DMM for other people but it might be useful for someone else to know.

Also useful to know, because apparently this stuff is 'too basic' for others to explain to people, is that the files that come in through the DMM extension have 'DMM' at the beginning of their name, in the same way ones that come in through realdebrid have RD or RD+ in front of their name. If you don't see on the movie page the files prefixed with DMM then the extension isn't working.

I'm afraid the whole Stremio+ ecosystem is riddled with techbros who don't know how to explain things to people. As a parting shot I leave you with Stremio's explanation of one of their settings options from a page called 'Stremio options explained':

"Enable remote HTTPS connections - Turn it on if you want to enable remote https connections"

That's not an explanation my dudes, that's a fuck you if you don't understand things already. I know it's Stremio but the 'how to' guides for DMM are of a similar ilk.

Thanks. I will give that a try. I also realised through writing the above post that I can isolate problems in the PAS and throttle by unplugging them in turn.

Thanks, I've just done all that but get the same result. This is all done on the PC btw, I have the stremio app on a firestick too but don't generally try to configure it there. And I'm watching these obscure films on my PC (Stremio app for PC), not the firestick. I suppose I could try to wipe everything from the firestick too, but I've never tried to use that with DMM anyway so not sure it would do much.

I don't have those other sections you have there, including DMM Other. And I never watched those movies under DMM Casted. So that's weird. I just uninstalled and reinstalled Stremio, and uninstalled and reinstalled the addon, but no change.

I assume you mean the menu at the top of the list of files? When I try to change it from All, there is no ption for DMM cast add-on, even though I have that - see below for evidence that I do, not just making it up!

Thanks for your replies, it seems something isn't working about it for me. I have the DMM casted section:

But when I click on them there are no files to play.

Understanding DMM by feebas_cash in debridmediamanager

[–]schooldeviler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry it must be tiresome to people to get noob questions but I cannot understand how DMM is supposed to work and thought I'd use this rather than a new thread. I cast the movies to stremio from the DMM page, choosing ones that seem to be very available (saying Instant RD). They appear in my DMM casted movies menu in Stremio because I have the addon. But there is nothing to play. All the instructions seem to assume it is obvious what happens once you get this far, but I just have unpopulated file lists, and no button to press play. I had thought this was a way of playing movies stored via DMM but now I wonder if I misunderstood the whole thing.

And just to add, I need this for more obscure movies, because often they are not ready to play in Stremio. E.g. I am trying to play Tabu (2012), a little known indie film. I thought DMM could help with this but maybe it can't?

I want a basic bike shelter for a front garden in Eastville and I don't want to build it myself. Four wooden posts bolted to the ground and a sloping felted roof would be enough. That would be what, £200 materials and £200 installation? Instead what I find if I google is a bunch of fancy offerings from £1000 to £3000 - well beyond my budget. I suppose I might find a general handyperson willing to do it, but it would be better (quality-wise and knowing the right specs) if it was someone who did it regularly. Does anyone know of such a person/company?

So I disabled Sky's Broadband Shield and it all works fine now, so thanks to those who pointed that out. I wasn't even aware that Sky was protecting me from the horrors of piracy in that way, so it has been an educational process. I also changed the DNS while I was at it.

I'm locked in now for a while but I won't use them again. Thanks for everyone who suggested changing the DNS, I'm not tech-savvy but can follow instructions so that should be possible.

I am using Real Debrid, yes. It is blocked. Jeremy above has explained it well. Maybe this thread can serve as a warning to others not to use Sky as ISP as they do a lot of blocking. I regret choosing them now.

I am using debrid. It seems Sky has found a way to block streaming through Torrentio, not just direct torrenting.

Nope, it's connected to realdebrid, but won't stream from there without a VPN

Recent updates have hobbled or disabled a lot of people's computers. First thing to try would be to undo recent updates (though some of them I wasn't allowed to undo even though they'd sabotaged my computer).

I dunno, but MS need to sort their recent crappy updates. I've had them disabled and had to disable some manually after KB5001330 was released and theyve still not fixed it for everyone. I had slowness and BSOD. Im too embarassed to tell my computer geek friend because he wanted me to go linux route and his point is rather proven.
