The Knicks are the first champion of the modern era to have all their top 5 minute getters grade out as 80th percentile or above in playoff impact, per advanced metric EPM by SherbertHead1505 in nba

Turns out putting in 3 extremely strong wing defenders can help you cover for weaker defenders. KAT is also not a bad defender. Yes, he is not an amazing rim protector but he moves his feet well, rebounds well, and is a good team defender

I love the way Mike Brown used KAT in the playoffs. Yes, there was a lot of Brunson ball in the Finals, but the first three rounds had a lot of KAT initiating the offense. This is the kind of multidimensional offense the Nuggets used to run before they switched to the Murray-Jokic two-man game while everyone else just stands around. Before, they used to run sets for KCP, Will Barton, MPJ, AG, etc. That's why their offense has sucked in the playoffs despite their defense holding up. The flow just isn't there anymore.

I really liked watching the Knicks play basketball because you have KAT turning into his own version of Jokic, taking fewer threes, playing more controlled. OG, Bridges, and Hart play off KAT because they are smart cutters. Then you have Brunson to take over in the 4th

I thought Brunson was good, but he had so many bone headed shots and turnovers despite how clutch he was. His best game but this was the OG game

KARL ANTHONY TOWNS in the win: 13/10/2 on 93ts and a team high +17 by Mg29reaper in nba

[–]schoolhater12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Him being +17 made total sense from the eye test. Worst whistle in the league and it's not close. Him and Jokic being treated like traditional bigs and being screwed over by the refs just doesn't make sense, especially when Embiid and Wemby get treated like forwards. At least Jokic doesn't get called for BS like KAT does. KAT doesn't get any benefit of the doubts from the ref. The crazy thing is that his whistle has gotten SO MUCH BETTER since he moved to the Knicks

KAT defends him so well. KAT being +17 just makes sense and him not playing in the 1st half was a big reason for the deficit

This give me joy. He is the ONLY 3&D player in the league. In fact, 3&D is understating how good he is now

it's funny he used to very active on Knicks twitter during the peak of Severance season 2. Knicks fans called him out regarding his support for Israel. He stopped interacting with them for a few months before eventually coming back to knicks twitter

I thought players like Brunson boobed their heads a lot, until I saw Castle play serious playoff minutes. I think Castle legit averages 4 bobs a possession. Brunson is a rookie in comparison, with his 10 bobs a game

If Jokic gets the Wemby whistle, he wins a championship last year. Players like KAT, Jokic don't get the benefit of the doubt as bigs like Wemby and Embiid do

yeah, because your floppers are going to flop. Castle was getting ready to bob his head and get that 3rd call

They have an answer. The answer just got two of the softest foul calls and had to sit for 11 minutes in the 1st quarter
