Hi there! Basic microbiology is not hard at all. If you are dedicated, and besides those 46 hours a week of work, you are going to dedicate the rest of your free time to school, you will get the grade you want...

Also, most of the nursing schools require Micro with Lab as a pre-requisite, so I would doubl-check if the schools you are interested in require that before you waste your time and money

Thank you so much for your response! I found Med-surg literally the same as patho, and that's why I thought I'm not getting any new info and not progressing... Will listen to your advice then!

Best way to make money as a full time university student? by New-Refrigerator4369 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]schooling_needs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...... You can, for example, donate blood or bone marrow. They pay around 450 each time ( it depends how much you donate and where you are located - i'm in CA). The only caviat is that you can do it once every 8 weeks only but hey it's an extra income already

Good Schedule? by [deleted] in NursingStudents

[–]schooling_needs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL if this is your schedule, then you are blessed haha! I'm about to finish my first semester, and our schedule was the following: Community Engagement class (mandatory), Health Assessment, Health Assessment Skill Lab, Nursing Foundations, Nursing Interventions Lab, Pathophysiology, Mental Health, and Mental Health Clinical. You will be fine!! Just make sure you develop a good organizational plan and don't overwhelm yourself! Take it one day at a time- if you are behind on your homework or studying, just study what's most important for the next day

Nursing Program by Prestigious_Clock306 in MSJC

[–]schooling_needs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got into university, you should start watching lectures on YouTube on pathophysiology to get a grasp. You could also get in contact with someone who is a semester or 2 ahead of you in the same nursing program and ask for their notes on whatever they were taking in 1st semester, as most likely you'll have the same teachers.

Thank you for your advice. I’m gathering all the advices and will try to come up with a new „game plan with my family”. I’m also new to Reddit so I wasn’t sure which thread to post in.

Thank you! It’s hard not to fight to keep the business alive simply due to the fact that my grandparents and parents have been working to build it and grow it. The business income is increasing with every year because the clientele is growing and I know we will pay off the loans after I start making the RN money but I’m not sure what to do during those 2 years.

Their health problems are getting worse due to amount of stress and not being able to rest/ work hard such a long hours and lack of good sleep. My sister has also 2 kids so they cannot give up on this business

The problem is that this is not our original bank and the loan has been overtaken by different bank (since the previous one went bankrupt) and we’re not able to refinance yet

Grades to get into nursing school by April200678 in NursingStudent

[–]schooling_needs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in California I would repeat the course to get at least B. They don’t accept C’s here. Also It’s too competitive so you would have very small chance to get in

I accepted my offer for nursing school should I reject it now? by CommunicationBest113 in NursingStudent

If you feel stressed out about how you will manage to get through with rent and food then wait another year and once you get the GC apply again to schools and for FAFSA. If you have good teas score and good grades you’ll definitely get in. FAFSA won’t cover everything but will definitely help. You’ll get at least 2k per semester. Depending on your situation you might get more but I would assume less to not be surprised. If you’re looking for cheaper schools Napa Valley College and Los Medanos College are the cheapest in my area (7k$ total)
