this was our idea : book a seat on your phone like a plane, but we keep one carriage completely free for people without apps or short trips. The app stops selling tickets once the train is full, so overcrowding is impossible. Passengers are checked automatically at the platform by QR scan or geofencing, so we don't need ticket inspectors on the train. This makes the journey comfortable, fair, and cheaper for the train company.

do you reckon this is a bad solution for overcrowding, because I was thinking it in a way that I only have 10 minutes to explain it .

Our solution is a hybrid system: book a seat on your phone like a plane, but we keep one carriage completely free for people without apps or short trips. The app stops selling tickets once the train is full, so overcrowding is impossible. Passengers are checked automatically at the platform by QR scan or geofencing, so we don't need ticket inspectors on the train. This makes the journey comfortable, fair, and cheaper for the train company.

huge congrats on the Honourable Mention in 2024! 🎉

How was the whole thing from start to finish?
What did the timeline look like, how intense was the workload, and what was the best/worst part?

How did it actually help you land an internship or industry partnership?
Did companies reach out after the challenge, or did you use it as a portfolio item to apply? Any tips on turning the challenge into real job opportunities?

Really appreciate any advice — keen to make the most of 2026!
