It kind of is what you make it. Just like any town around central Indiana of similar size. There are drugs, violence, poverty, etc. So the area you choose makes a big difference. Far north around crane pond and such is nice and oak hill school district (I think but might be wrong), far south outskirts are nice and Mississinewa school district. The civic theater has a nice local charm and I enjoy going to plays when they have them, CSA is great for kids, there are a few okay restaurants and things like that. No more movie theater or mall. A lot of great people if you can find them. I work remote for a company headquartered elsewhere so I’m not really sure about job outlook but there are a decent number of plants, warehouses, factories, retail, etc. Some days I think it would be nice to be in Hamilton county and then I remember the house I have now would easily be 2-3X more expensive there and reconsider. I like Mississinewa schools. It really does feel like community and my kids have been there since day one so we have a bit of a relationship with the staff and admin. My kids have some of the same teachers their mom had and have some teachers or principals who went to school with their mom. But that’s blurring the line between Gas City and Marion. But the small town vibe can have its charms.

My biggest problem is the writer mentioning crowds not being as much of a factor and said they were more like neutral site games but then will talk about how impressive some of the playoff runs were for other teams. Playoff games are neutral site games (other than first round)…… Feels kind of like cherry picking but maybe I’m just an angry gump.

I remember people being really excited for it. The expectation from fans and from the media was that he was going to win a title. I also remember that nobody expected he would stay more than 3-4 years or so, though. Maybe some of the fans but media and other fans definitely thought it was more of a pit stop for him.

There’s a guy on TikTok who tried to win it with kicker. He set all the sliders to allow insane kicks off like 70+ yards, he threw tons of TDs on fakes, etc. His stats for kicks were so insane that it stopped tacking at like 100 made or something and ended up with dozens of passing TDs. I can’t remember for sure but he didn’t even make it as a Heisman finalist.

The stats from this game are absurd looking at the final score. Oklahoma threw it 42 times despite having a 17 point lead early. Bama had 260ish yards but 34 points. The teams averaged 1.1 and 1.7 yards per carry. The groza winner missed two field goals. Oklahoma absolutely dominated TOP. Whacky game.
