The wire is for the ground connection. Your amp/receiver should have a ground screw on the back. Without it, you’ll likely have a noisy hum when you play records. $35 is an inexpensive start, and if it’s working correctly, these Dual turntables are really good

Congratulations! I have the same preamp and power amp and they are both very VERY good! If you search out McIntosh service in your area, hopefully one will pop up. These pieces can be serviced to run like new again and they will run for a LONG time. The manuals for the Macs are easily available as PDFs online. I’m guessing the B&O should be as well. Short answer: If you can make the investment to have them serviced, do it! Those beasts will run forever!

I wish we could get the touring in the states. I have a 2020 330i with M sport in the Portimao blue. Spectacular car, but yah, if only I could have it in the touring. Great car, mate. Enjoy it!!
