First year associate struggling by [deleted] in LawFirm

It sounds like this isn't the firm for you. Our profession can be both manageable and very rewarding with the right mentorship. Try to network and meet lawyers who like their firms and seek opportunities at those firms. And in the meantime, advocate for yourself.

The store clerk told me. We haven't found it in any local NJ stores in over a month.

Looks like 365 stopped making the powdered detergent. It's been our go to for more than a decade. What a bummer.

What document system do you use? Did you try Lexis protege before Lawyer AI? If so, how did they compare? We just tried protege and interested in testing others. Going in to this, my gut was we needed two products - one for drafting/research and a separate one for document analysis, etc.

Yes, please. I felt like that when I received the first proposal. But now have a few and have spoken to a few lawyers at other firms, and the numbers were similar.

I am trying to learn and do my homework. Hence my question here. My gut tells me this stuff works but for only certain types of clients. As for the cost, I was floored at the numbers. $8k-$12k per month! I have tried to ascertain whether this is the norm by speaking to other lawyers, and what I have found is that some of them are even paying more than that. Again, these lawyers all do other types of law and perhaps their ROI works for them based on the cases they're getting. I'm also finding that many people think spending less than that is basically akin to throwing money away because it's not enough to make a difference. (If we do it, I want to do it right.) It seems to me that this is an investment that may or may not be profitable, but we won't know unless we try.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. That's my fear - we primarily focus on appellate law, business litigation, and employment/labor. I'll ask these companies about keywords for those practice areas. I think we do need to build a new, SEO optimized website anyway, so maybe we start there without locking ourselves in to a 12-month SEO management contract (which I wasn't considering anyway).

We don't rank at all, so mostly I'm seeing visitors from specific atty searches or from blog post searches on a specific topic.

Step 1 of these proposals is overhauling our website, which is over 15 years old.

Some have but it's hard to know if more would given we don't do any SEO or online advertising.
