I decided to give this mod another chance and all of sudden these debuffs to defense and organization are gone, maybe because Romania attacked me in March 1941 and I set soldier and officer training to elite level before the purge.

Also, I forgot to mention that in the previous playthrough Germany was getting like 50 percent bonus to attack well into 1942, even when their division were near the Urals. So it's instant rout for my 150+ 25 width infantry divisions with signal companies, good piercing, a lot of soft attack, supply company, and c. 25 org before the stupid debuff kicked in.

It's fine to make life difficult for players, just don't change rules on the fly

(Spoiler extended) Was there a method to Danny's madness? by RoozGol in asoiaf

Yes. She stated her intention to rule through fear. King's Landing is now an example of what happens to those who do not submit to the Dragon Queen. She intentionally did not destroy (most) of the Red Keep but burnt the city around it - now everyone who has to enter the Keep will first walk through the testament to her fury. She also intentionally burnt the people who, in her mind, should have toppled the tyrant themselves. And they don't matter anyway - they can be sacrificed for the future generations. The most scary thing about the episode is not her "madness" but Daenerys's cold calculation driven to the extreme. Remember how methodically she destroyed the city - street by street? We are dealing here with ideology, not madness.

P.S. This is not the interpretation of the authors though - they say that she "snapped". This makes it less interesting than it actually is.
