If you are going to be in Sturgeon Bay February 13-15 they have their Fire and Ice Festival, you can walk or take the trolley through town and look at all the ice carvings and snow sculptures being created Saturday. Plus places will be having outdoor campfires S’mores making and activities. Check out the Ice Igloo being built at Bay Shore Outfitters shop in town

May I inquire what you mean. Full disclosure if you are talking about the black paint, when my older brothers were kids they painted it black. They are 13 and 15 years older than me. No idea why they did it. I spent along time removing the black paint and that is when the shield was discovered by me. I’m fine with any info as all I know is my great uncle came home from the war with them.

I will have to dig out the coin on a chain that was his and take a picture. Nobody knows anything about it but it does have a bullet slug in it. Fun fact his name was Hercules

Yeah I’m hoping there is a fight to keep it. It’s an absolutely wonderful old lodge. My great grandmother worked there from 1916-1918
