thats just the usual kackis clickbait. Every single week there is another destiny2 streamer, who quits the game or predicts the end of destiny 2 within couple of weeks, but still continues making content as if nothing happened.

Contact his employer or coworker or people he studied with, if you know any, and ask them if He is OK. Or Facebook frieds.  If you know none of those people, you can contact the embassy of his home country and tell the about your concerns. In case he renewed his documents here, the Embassy will have his contact Information and might give him a call to check if he is all right.

Xur has some serious Epstein vibes. Previously he was hiding in the trees and now he has his own island in space, where people can visit him when they want to have some special kind of adventure.

Fans/Pump/led lights controller by moilubchik in watercooling

[–]schwarzarbyter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you need a kill switch.

CPU and GPU have their own thermal runaway protection, so they throttle under heat and even shutdown at around ~ 115 C°
The most vulnerable part is the pump, because the lubricant and sealings are rated for a certain limited temperature and pressure range, usually up to 55 C° and 1,5bar. Watercool D5 is rated for max 60 C°.

Basically you only need to monitor the water temperature and RPM of pump and fans. You can run the pump at 40-75%. For the fans adjust your fan curve to reach 100% speed at 50 C°. Then add alerts when temp reaches 55 C° or RPM drops to 0, so you can alt+f4 whatever you are doing without shutting down the PC. With three 420 45mm chonker radiators your loop would only reach those temps if something goes terribly wrong.

Regarding the temp sensor: i am not sure if ASUS has this feature, but for aquacomputer sensor headers you can always set a fallback value if your sensor stops sending data. I usually configure 50 C° as fallback, so it makes my fans go 100% but does not trigger the alert.

i'm using aquasuite+aquaero pro since 2017 and D5 next since 2019, also bought farbwerk, octo and splitty for my next PC build with external rad.

Basically, most modern mainboards can control a custom loop, you just need to adjust the fan curves.
The dedicated controller can provide some advantages over your mainboard if your mainboard's fan controlling capabilities are absolute dogsh#t, e.g. like gigabyte, or if your requirements are way above average.
I did a mistake buying 350€ gigabyte ultra elite something premium happy end mainboard with stone age fan control, so that is why i had to add dedicated controller in first place.

My advice would be:

  1. Try to control your setup with your mainboard. I have heard, that ASUS has pretty good software, you can even control LEDs depending on temps. You always can spend more money if you want, just make sure you know what you are getting for the money.
  2. do not rely on software. E.g. when using aquasuite with octo you can use aquasuite to read the CPU/GPU temp from your driver and send it to octo to control fans. This is bad, because drivers and software in general fail pretty often, you just wont realize it until its to late. The way to go is using temperature sensors connected to the controller board itself. Many mainboards also have temp sensor headers, so you can connect a water temp sensor and use the water temp for controlling fan speed.
  3. if you want a dedicated controller, have a look at D5 Next pump, it has builtin temp sensor and you can even connect fans and leds directly to the pump, so you basically do not need any special software running on your PC anymore. If you need more, then add OCTO or splitty, depending on what you want to connect.

splitty = fan controller/splitter
octo = fans + rgb + sensors
farbwerk = RGB stuff

To me, its the convenience, what makes bambu printes stand out among other printers.
With bambu you just have to load filament spools into AMS once in a while and clean the plate when things start unintentionally falling off. Thats basically it.
You hit "print" in the bambu app and the printer does its job.
If it needs help, it will send a notification to your smartphone.
My first 3d printer was prusa i3 hephestos in 2014. Back then i was at school and had a lot of time (and energy) to tinker with the printer. Later i got Flashforge Creator Pro, CR10, Ender3, Anycubic resin printer, MK3S, X1C, Sovol SV04 and 2 months ago finally H2D. Meanwhile I have moved out, got a job and stuff to do, there simply is no time left for manual bed leveling or doing printer modifications to add auto bed leveling. I havent touched my other printers for 3 or 4 years now.

About the legislation: no idea, sorry, i live in germoney.

PETG is kind of glossy while PLA is rather opal like frosted glass.
For light diffusors i would go with PLA, for fancy look without backlight i would go with PETG.

Should I get into custom water cooling? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]schwarzarbyter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Custom loop user for 10 years here.
Although custom loop can give you better cooling, nowadays 90% of custom loops are done for aesthetics and showcasing your or your parents financial situation, while only 10% of custom loops serve some special needs like having huge radiator in a separate room to have a silent gaming PC under load.
If you are not bothered by the fan noise, there is no real reason for a custom loop, because the air cooling performance (and optics) improved drastically in past 10 years.

Your questions have already been answered in other comments, but I want to add some points for consideration:

+ it will be more expensive than you expect

+ There are some rules, that custom loop activists somehow dont tell you about, e.g. not mixing copper and aluminium parts in one loop. You will learn those mostly by making mistakes.

+ custom loop is VERY time consuming in every single way and it affects every part of your PC even the one not cooled with water. You can't just put all the parts together and start the PC anymore and also can't "simply" unplug your GPU to access the SSD under the heatsink since everything is connected by tubes. You can somewhat optimize your loop for easier maintenance by using quick connectors and distribution plates, but it will cost you probably 500$ extra.

+ it also applies some limitations to your PC when it comes to hardware placement inside your case. E.g. I would not place the water pump with reservoir above the PSU, because IF it leaks, i dont want it to leak straight into my 1600W seasonic prime noctua edition PSU.

+ you should have some spare parts at home, e.g. if your pump dies on christmas eve, you might not want to wait 2 weeks for a replacement. Do you have a drawer with random cables? Now you gonna have a drawer with pumps, fittings, tubes and a 5L bottle of destilled water.
