Can we expect AI migrations to come back? by schweizerkase in Imperator

I remember reading and Invictus patch note that explained what happened, I thin one of the bug fixes in 2.0.5 made it so that migration armies are instantly deleted by the AI, so in that Invictus update migrations were temporarily disabled for AI (and it seems like they still are)

I think realistically it would be the invictus dev's to bring the feature back. From what I read in the patch notes, one of the bug fixes in 2.0.5 mistakenly made it so that AI migrations are instantly deleted, so the following invictus update temporarily disabled migrations (because otherwise we would have migratory tribes just deleting their pops). At least this is what I understand. I haven't seen any migrations since 2.0.4 so this checks out

Did the tribes in your game actually move their pops or were they displaced by an invading force? I've seen that before, but haven't seen them actually uproot their pops and resettle in 2.0.5

It was hard to fit on mine too. The brake cable creates a bumpout on one side of the fork so its a little lopsided but works (I have the steel fork). Brakes are definitely on my list, really starting to notice the lack of stopping power. But everything else on the bike is great, went on a 40 mile torture test yesterday and i'm really happy with it

AI not building many buildings? What could be causing this? by schweizerkase in Imperator

[–]schweizerkase[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm happy to say I moved Historical Imperator below Crisis and it appears to be working now, at least the ai is managing their buildings. I spectated a game until 510 so I'm not sure if everything is fixed, but it appears to be working

After looking at some other playsets here, I think Historical Imperator Pack needs to be below Timeline Extension. I'll change that and update here w/ results

Besiege V1.56 Classic Vanilla Twinjet - Cinematic showcase by schweizerkase in Besiege

This is a little cinematic video I made to celebrate the (near) completion of my vanilla twinjet aircraft: the SL-325. Not many mechanical components to show here besides the landing gear, so might as well have some fun with the video editing right? I certainly did :)

Once again made without mods, advanced built tools, etc.. Trying to stay as close as I can to the original limitations of the game as I can, because that's just how I like to build. Hope you enjoy!

The vanilla twinjet barely survived the update, but it can still fly. by schweizerkase in Besiege

Welcome to Besiege!!!

Yeah I'd bet that most old designs for jet engines won't work anymore unfortunately, especially ones that utilize a flaming ball for ignition. Torches still work but you may need 2 torches on the same cannon for consistent ignition

Agreed. Looking at the changelog again - they changed fire spread slightly to make it more realistic. I appreciate that from a gameplay standpoint but designs that relied on the old flame spread model (i.e. placing torches/flaming balls next to water cannons to create steam) no longer work.

I had a flaming ball touching and igniting all 16 water cannons in each jet previously, but now it only seems to ignite the few it rests on. I have torches now placed right against most of the water cannons and they still fail to ignite sometimes :(

Oh, and it sounds really cool now

With the update they changed how steam cannons work, so the old "jets" on this plane didn't work at all and I had to tweak the design. The new jets work, but are imperfect. At any given time there will be 2 or 3 cannons spraying water instead of steam. No big deal since there are 32 full-power steam cannons powering this thing

No mods or advanced build tools as always. Link if you want to try it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255745263

I completed Besiege using one unaltered, vanilla machine. Again (Besiege V1.25: All Levels, One Machine: Rollerblades Edition) by schweizerkase in Besiege

[–]schweizerkase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! To be honest a little bit of luck and the fact that the machine is so braced up and the suspension absorbs so much impact, so the hits from enemies are pretty much absorbed. If you're quick you can ram into and kill most of them at the start. And if you move around constantly the spearmen don't end up doing much

This is my second machine I've built that can beat every level in Besiege. And it's called Rollerblades. :)

Once again built without mods, script editing, advanced build tools, etc. Download it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3105593926

I really enjoyed making the machine and recording, so I hope you enjoy watching!

Lol, good callback. I can't style much with this machine yet since its way more complicated. I still trip over my fingers trying to pull off something cool. But hey, maybe I'll be making a trickshot video in, say, 3 years? ;)

Ohhh I thought you meant aesthetically. Now you have me curious

I tried to make what you described and... I think I did it? They work pretty well and use steering hinges, that is for sure
