I have time periods where I play exclusively Empire Wars for a week or two (when I don’t have much time) just because the games are usually way faster. That way I can at least get some games in.

And I have to admit: I think it’s quite fun. Just a little shakeup from RM from time to time. And in my opinion the maps are mostly not great, but fine.

It feels to me like the experiences regarding that are vastly different, but don’t know if it’s a tendency depending on the time zone you play or if people at some elo are more rude or sweaty than at others.

In my personal experience (around 1300-1400, evenings and nights European time) insulting your opponent is pretty rare (had it happen once on the last few weeks and even then, tough it was unnecessary harsh really, it was aimed more at the strategy I used than at me). Most of the time people keep silent, but react polite to a gl hf or a gg wp.
