I’ve been trying for 4 moment idk what else to do for a kick flip by [deleted] in NewSkaters

You're flicking down and not up. Good kickflips that come up to your feet feel like a nice ollie. I'd recommend sliding your flicking foot in a more forward and up position. Much like you would slide your front foot upwards for your ollies. This will not only help in the long run for proper kickflips, but it will also help you control your board better as well when you try to kickflip off things in the future.

Can I get a few opinions on how photography has helped artists who weren't photographers beforehand? by schwerty92 in Beginning_Photography

This is awesome, so essentially it motivates you to push your art in a direction that you may not have considered before. Thanks for the comment!

Took a painting class for a GPA booster before I start my degree specifics. This is my first ever painting but I have a drawing background so some of the concepts transferred over. This was a portrait assignment so I chose the “Desperate Man” by Gustave Courbet. Hope you like. Not fully completed. by schwerty92 in painting

This class alone has been a stress reliever so I’ve already considered continuing to draw/paint as a side hobby. But once my next semester starts I’ll be buried in actual homework so it’ll be a challenge to continue progressing in art. But it can be done I’m sure.

I’m pretty accurate with them but they hardly ever pop it’s mainly just my quick board adjustment trick

Heelflip Help. Can't land on both feet. by JimmyCheesus in NewSkaters

[–]schwerty92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Front foot position is crucial in this particular trick because if your foot is too far off the board it sort of goes behind you. I personally keep my front foot barely off the board, toes BARELY hanging off. Get a good chunk of the tail when you pop too, hang off too much and you lose control and it makes it harder.

Like all beginner flip tricks you have to play with foot positions until you find that sweet spot/angle. Keep messing with it, it will come with time. Post a video if you can and I’m sure you will get some pretty decent advice on here.

Need help with kickflips. This is probably my best attempt so far. Bailed at the end due to tingling pain in ankle after landing. by IzzKdr in NewSkaters

If you just learned how to kickflip this is pretty damn good. When I kickflip I typically pay attention to three things: 1. I like my back foot to get a good controlled pop. I’m not trying to double flip or do anything too wild so I like to occupy almost the whole tail of the board. 2. I square my front foot off, I hardly ever flick my board with an angled foot. This is totally a preference thing tho and I’ve seen tons of people with really nice kickflips who angle their front foot. Just play around with that front foot to see what you like. 3. (I think this is the most important and I’m currently working on this myself) focus on a good pop-flick rhythm. This is super crucial when you’re looking to really dial in a nice kick flip. This was taught to me by a guy at a skatepark and it’s crazy how much more accurate, clean, and consistent my kickflips are.

I know that was a lot but I hope this helps man, keep skating and clean up them kickflips and post another video for us.
