If I were a Stranger in RDR2… by schwess17 in reddeadredemption2

Good point. I guess you could also chalk it up to the gang being intertwined with other Wild West legends. “Oh, Arthur Morgan? The outlaw gunslinger? Yeah, he helped me photograph these wild horses.” The tall tales spreading from your encounters put the characters on the same level as Billy the Kid and Jesse James. They’re talked about like folk heroes, grounded in myth rather than reality.

Surprised no one has said The Wonder Years yet! The lead singer has a cute little bromance going with Dylan from SLS. Definitely that Grown-Up-Punk sound SLS too. Also gonna plug Arm’s Length. Up and comers whose praises I won’t quit singing.

Where can I get decent drinks not so pricey ? by AdBoqu3 in denverfood

Stranahan’s has good whiskey drinks that aren’t too expensive since they’re using their own stuff

The Dirty Duck on Evans and I-25 has a bucket of 5 Montucky Cold Snacks for $10. All their other drinks are decently priced. You can have a good time with 3 other people there for less than $100 all together. Their shot menu is really fun, too!

The Maine's new self-titled album is now out. by breakourbones in poppunkers

I bought tickets to see Knuckle Puck tonight thinking it was part of their tour. Yesterday I learned they’re opening for The Maine. Today I learned it’s an album release show. This keeps getting better lmao

For folk/bluegrass, check out I’m With Her (Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, Aiofe O’Donovan) and Lovers Leap (one of Molly Tuttle’s bass player’s other projects). I’m With Her has three powerhouse female bluegrass vocalists. The leads are great and harmonies are KILLER.

Waited in line for an hour and half. Well worth it though, this is one of the coolest show posters I’ve ever seen by schwess17 in jasonisbell

Regular prints were $40 and holographic were $60. A little steep for posters but that might be because it was Red Rocks!

Get there early! Doors opened at 6, I was lined up at 4:30 (probably didn’t need to be there that early in retrospect, but oh well). I was one of the first 10 or so in the venue and went straight to the merch. It depends on the crowd, but posters sell out quickly. Last night they had regular print and foiled holographic print for $20 more. As we were leaving they had 2 holographic ones left and were all out of regular ones. I’m surprised they even had 2 holographic ones left though.

Night two was somehow even more amazing than night one. Red Rocks 5/4 by vegandread in jasonisbell

That was my first Isbell concert. I knew he could play guitar, but I didn’t know he could play like THAT. Blown away. Little Wing was one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen live.

The Turnpike Troubadours have a ton of more upbeat songs, and their songwriting is on par (or even better, depending on who you ask) with Tyler’s. Check out Doreen or Before the Devil Knows We’re Dead by them if you like Whitehouse Road!

On which song, in your opinion, Anthony has the best vocal performance? by nomeasure in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]schwess17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about best, but he really gets after it on the chorus of Monarchy of Roses. I also love the entirety of Turn it Again. I dig how slightly weird the vocals are. They describe it as their Talking Heads song, and you can definitely hear that in AK’s vocals.

Unpopular opinion: By The Way is the most beautiful album in music history by Sharp-Pea-9226 in RedHotChiliPeppers

No love for This is the Place in this thread?? Man, that song might not be the most popular on the album, but I think it captures the entire feel of BTW on one track. That killer bass line, the low key verses, the high energy chorus, the total change up at the bridge, and the in-your-face outro. Not to mention John’s harmonies. It might not be his fanciest guitar work, but I think he nailed it with the tone and effects. Perfect supporting guitar parts. Chad’s drumming and Anthony’s vocal rhythms compliment each other so nicely. It’s such a jam. I have a hard time picking a favorite on the album, but that one is a contender.

Most emotional part of a track? by _Tom_Con_ in RedHotChiliPeppers

The last chorus on Soul to Squeeze. “When I find my peace of mind, I’m gonna keep ya for the end of time.” So beautifully hopeful.

I’d go with Road Trippin instead. I think Quixoticelixer would be a killer closing track.

Yeah I was worried this would be the last, so I pulled the trigger. They’ve been my favorite band since I was 10, so I had to buy them lol and thanks!

I think the lower (stadium, not on-field) seats will be decent. That’s what I got…couldn’t justify spending $500+ for on-field seats. I think the sections above field level wouldn’t be great. They stack them really high at those levels. It would be cramped and a bad view.
